What a shame he's gone. He had such a classy voice, no one else on Nine News was anything like him.

Condolences to his family of course.

Condolences to Peter's family - Peter was one of the best old school journo's in this country, its a tragedy he's gone. He gave Nine's news credibility & respect Oz wide.

cheers, Maka

Just like to add my condolences to Peter Harvey's family and friends. It's such a shock that he passed away so soon after he was diagnosed. I grew up watching him on Channel 9 News.

I grew up with this man from the early 80's. Will be sadly missed but loved Peters mail on 60 minutes.

RIP good bloke...

The old pancreatic cancer doesn't stuff around...it's said to be one of the worst cancers there is...fast, aggressive, usually not found until it's too late, and painful. There's probably worse ways to go, but I can't think of any right now...

There's probably not one person who could look at his picture today and not hear those syrupy deep words "Peter Harvey...Canberra" in their head.

Peter Harvey-a real journalist, when he was giving you the story it was the truth and you felt like it was the truth.Every journo should aspire to be like him, then we wouldnt get the slop we get dished up every day in the modern media
RIP Peter

May he rest in eternal peace. He will be missed by more than just his close family, I am sure there will be many others who will also miss his presence.

Too many narrowly focussed journalists these days, or ones who think they have a wide range, but are really just grinning joke-making idiots like that Andrew O'Keefe we are being inflicted with at the moment on weekend Sunrise. Either that or they only cover one or two subjects and are obviously out of their depth when things get serious.

Harvey was said to be a journalist who could go from a war zone to a fashion shoot and make either one seem important and he could turn his talents to covering anything.
