Default Sad news, mate passed away,no seatbelt.

You may have seen it on tv, small truck with excavater vears off road hits telegraph pole laying on side of the road in sydney.

John passed away 17/10/05 from massive internal injuries and associated damage, He is survived by michelle and two children.

He was not speeding, and honestly nobody will know what happened but he exited through the windscreen on impact.
We all know that some truck drivers dont wear seatbelts, unlike rta adds, this is unfortunatly real,

I need no debate on this, I wish only to promote a message..

PLEASE do not compromise safety for the gift of life.

That's unfortunate. It's "click it or ticket" here in the US.

condolences kev, its sad to loose a mate, while he's just doing his job..

my uncle is a truck driver, he had a major accident a few years back, and if it wasnt for the fact he wasnt wearing his belt he'd have died...
the cabin was completley crushed but he was trapped between the dash and floor.....

we were so lucky in this instance.......

I don't know you, or the persons involved. All i know is that I've lost someone (best mate since kindergarden) in a car accident a few years back, and its not fun to say the least.

So i'm really sorry to hear it mate, I understand what its like and I pray that yourself and the family can get back on there feet quickly.

Oh is it .. i thought it wasn't compulsary in the US to wear seatbelts.

Whenever I get in the car I always put my seatbelt on before moving off ... or any other vehicle for that matter. And Im a courier getting in an out fo the ute all of the time ... I know it's a hassle buckling up and what-not a 100 times a day ... but still ... I treasure my life.

I feel sorry for his family and friends for their loss ... it was an unncessary loss. Some people make the decision to belt up or not ... it's their decision I guess.

As a friend of john and family, thankyou for your condolances. sincearly.

But as this thread has suggested it seems to be a choice in some vehicles. and the only reason i posted this shocking news, was to make more people aware, complacency hits us all in many forms , and if i have put back some fear into making a choice of one thing (seatbelts) , and saves somebodys family and freinds this despair

We can all feel better in a small way.

Thankyou again....
