yup tpgs $50 plan is now $69....but to answer your question...heres a recommendation...i have bigpond ADLS 1.5mb 20GB limit (download speeds 170-180kbps), stay away from it....for value for money it has to be the worst package.

If you bundle your broadband with your phone line, then iinet is pretty good. The phone line is the same fixed cost as Telstra with similar call charges. Then with iinet I get 20GB for $50/month using a 10GB peak/10GB off-peak split. If you aren't a night owl (I've had to adjust due to a new job). Then just queue up your downloads for off-peak and hammer it, then when you are shaped just keep downloading at the slower speed, using your peak time quota for web surfing and some file downloads. My friend is getting 10GB a month from a 4GB account doing this.

ah ^_^
the same friend suggested exetel, 50 a month for a 512 connection with i think 32gb, with unlimited downloads during off peak (2am till 10am), thats a great idea imo (: cause im usually online alot during those hours and it'll be fantastic with the unlimited downloads during those times ^^ |

Also on the Whirlpool site, there is a plan search HERE where you enter where you are and what type of plan, price etc you are looking for and it lists them all.
Most comprehensive list in Australia. VERY helpful!

AAPT have a good deal at the moment when you bundle your home phone with ADSL. $39 for 12gig / 512K ADSL ontop of that $29.95 line rental. Free connection including modem and best of all no contract , so you can leave if they are crap!

AAPT is crap. I am with Primus, a bundled deal. $30.95 for 512 speed and 1gb download, no charge for exceeding limit, reduces to dialup.Very pleased with Primus. Free modem. Work out your useage, TELSTRA are rip off merchants.

Not Telstra
Unless you like to be disconnected every night and then not be able to reconnect for a few hours. oh, and experience random dropouts constantly. That's their cable plan, although it was slow as anything, I think I actually had less dramas with dial-up than I have with telstra cable. It's good to hear peoples opinions on what you should go with, but I feel it is my duty to warn you of what you should steer clear of. From what I have heard, friends on telstra cable experience the same issues, not to mention I don't get reception on my mobile (with telstra) and I live 5 mins from the centre of the Gold Coast |

I'm with Netspace... 2 years without a single drama. 1500K, $59/month 20Gb, no fee for exceeding the limit. Not the cheapest out there but from my experience, very reliable.

Carsick. With AAPT I had continual connection problems, getting connected and staying connected. Email was primitive and worked when it wanted too. The help desk was no help, couldn't get me a stable connection or reliable email service.
IPrimus, no problems in 3 months. Stable connection. I also piggyback with AOL for $4.95 a month. Better program. But, its your choice. |

friend told me this on msn;
" Broadband provider TPG has begun informing out-of-contract customers that they must switch to new, more expensive plans after its popular $49.95 1.5Mbit plan was removed from sale if you do not nominate a new plan, the $69.95 plan will be chosen automatically." looks like ill cancel now (im out of contract), then churn onto Exetel the same day; and they have the $0 for churning from TPG and Netspace (: 50 bux for 512 @ 34gb ^___^ slower but at least im saving the extra 20bux if im too lazy :p |

I was with Telstra for the Home and Internet (ISDN) as we could not get ASDL at our place and the 2 mobiles were with Telstra as well
After the initial contact ran out with the Bigpond they upped the monthy charges from $39.95 to $48 - stuff that and the rental for the ISDN home service went up to $49.95 per month from $42.95 - stuff that as well nearly $100 just in rental for the ISDN service : I was nuts to start that in the first place, and it cost me $125 to have the line downgraded back to a standard PSTN service THEIVING MONGRELS..... : Now I pay $29 per month for line rental with FREE dial up unlimited internet AuNix Internet and we flicked the Mobiles to Vodafone on a 365 day pre pay and given the forks to the almighty Telstra Telstra has contacted me approx 15 times in the past 2 months (phone , SMS and mail) to ask "Why have you left us" - do I really have to answer that
