I'm 53 worked as a plumber, now I'm paying the price, sore back, knees but worst of all is the arthritis creeping in to my wrists etc...
Is this stuff a crock or what ... ??? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MENS-TOP-QUALI...30158001r37860 I used to work with copper every day,my hands would be green by the end of the day,but now copper pipes are like hot rocking horse kaka... I havent touched much copper like I used to,prolly 10 years since daily contact,so I wonder if those things really work...??? Cost bugger all,so might give it a shot, have seen a few blokes with bands of just copper," Do they work mate???" and ya just get a shrug of the shoulders Back in the old days me girl friend had a copper seven shoved up her clam to stop her gettin up the duff,so copper must do something... You old farts tried them...??? vik...Any info would be good... |

Look at some of the back-on-track products. I have fairly weak knees, and these help a lot. Dad has had a sore back for years and has bought some of the singlets and t-shirts and he is their biggest fan. I think I have seen mention of them on here before also.

Give glucosamine a go.12 months ago i couldn't walk without pain in my joints now i can run 6km's without any trouble.1 Tablet a day is all it takes.Make sure you go for the 1500mg ones as they are the strongest and therefore the best.

You are not alone - I need both my knees replace ASAP but finding the time is the problem as they must be done one at a time.
I have extreme pain, swelling and loss of movement. We all thought heaps of sport was great for us - not when you get to my age! The best stuff to take is a product called "Mobicosa". It is created from Green Lipped Muscles. Some of the Olympic team take this and it started in NZ with Olympic Equestrian Team feeding it to the horses (so I am told). There has been a lot of interest by the medical profession and many recommend it as the best and the rumour was they looking at making it a subsidised product in the future, through Medicare. I also find Nurofen Plus the only thing that will deal with the pain and swelling - dreadful stuff but gets me by until the surgery. Give Mobicosa a go - lots of people I know take it and love it. Shop around on the net as it varies in price greatly and work out how much each tablet is costing to find the best deal and add postage when you calculate this - not cheap stuff. Cheers GT

Tried magnetic underlays? I get back pain occasionally, and found an improvement with that, takes up to a month apparently. Wouldn't say its a miracle as yet, but its defiantly made an improvement, and I have noticed I sleep a lot better. Our cat also won't sleep anywhere but our bed since we got it so it must do something!

I recon those copper bands work . My oldmans athritis seemed worse 15 years back than it is nowerdays, he has copper bands on both ancles and wrists.
The greenish stain on the skin isn't pretty, but worth it from the results I have seen in my oldman. He has been wearing these bands for over 15 years now ans swears by them.

Haha I'm only 20 but try having Leaky Gut Syndrome, makes you have equivalent energy to a 70yr old. (Food gets into the blood and thus the brain).
It's terrible, especially when everyone expects you to be young and energetic. Pretty much same treating process as age, Cod liver oil, zinc and bentonite clay can work wonders. For age, a liver detox will make you feel amazing. If you experience bad fatigue then read on. If anyone here has Mercury fillings they're well known for making you feel 20yrs older. If you have 2 you already have an 80% chance of mercury poisoning. Anymore than 2 and I'd be worrying, this affects MANY people and scientists have only recently come to this realization. Kind of a strange post to make but if there's anyone here suffering from fatigue there's a good possibility that you don't necessarily have to.

I've had a couple people tell me that the glucosamine and condroitin pills have given them their lives back. I also had one fella tell me that he started with the salmon fish oil and got back to almost 100% with a couple of issues. I think I would go those ways if I develope serious problems.
I am still only 45 now and I have no issues at all. Sure, I could stand to lose 20 pounds, but that's it. I played baseball, football, and basketball as a kid and a teenager. Not organized sports but with the neighborhood kids. I also worked out on and off my entire life, lifting weights and jogging. I also took martial arts for 4 years starting when I was 30. I think another thing that helped my knees, leg muscles, and maybe stamina is that I have run up stairs, skipping every other one, since I started doing this in school at the age of 12. I do this in every building and my stairs at home. I cannot just "walk" up stairs, it's unnatural for me. Six years ago my mother-inlaw said that practice was going to end real soon. Well, I'm still doing it and nothing hurts. My wife has always eaten better (nutritionally) than me and she is not faring as well as I am, so I think it is all the on-and-off exercising through my life that is the reason for me not having any medical issues. Could also be genetics as my mother is 69 years old and you would be hard pressed to keep up with her. Steve

We can only get tinned salmon down here, and I love it... I always try and get Alaskan sockeye salmon (must be the Canuck in me,born there) cos it seems more oily than the normal pink salmon... My momma showed me this trick with salmon, great on toasted rye. One tin of sockeye (I drink all the oily brine it comes in) One onion finely chopped One lemon squeezed for the juice One big spoon of mayonnaise (or to taste) Mix it all together and spread it on toasted rye...bloody beautiful... You cane use tuna as well, but prolly need more mayo cos it is a dryer fish... I reckon your right about keeping fit vik...Keep up the good work... |

I am close to 60 and have arthritis in both shoulders, hips and knees. I have diabetes and my left leg is always swollen. I did read that Copper isn't the best thing to put on yourself as it can add to problems associated with pyroluria.
I think I might have to give the Glucosamine and Chondroitin a try, my Sister used to take it for a problem she had with her hip from birth. Anything would be better than the pain. If I had known I was going to be like this when I was 20, I wouldn't have made fun of the OLD buggers around then |

If the wallet can handle it may I suggest "deer velvet"? Do an internet search, rather than me go on about it, but I'd swear by it, and Omega 3 oil.

Try them Vik.Also for the lower body-ie hip joints knees- lose weight-it does help. A warmer climate can help -summer eases the pains for me and some time every day in a pool supported by water works too-and conversely to the climate comment-the colder the water in the pool the better. Unfortunately-the downside of working your body for a living. Imagine what AFL and Rugby players go through as early as their mid thirties. If all else fails Vik - try alcohol : |

Thats odd. Magnesium is good for the muscles and helps prevent cramps, i've never heard it being used for joints though.
