Just curious as to what the best time a normally aspirated LS1 has gone down the quarter? This can include engines that have been bored/stroked, but no blower/turbo/nitrous ect.

According to the timeslip section on the LS1 forums, there is a stroked LS1 ute that has run 9.510@150.30, but has nitrous
But for true n/a without any s/c mechanical or chemical, Chriso from Sydney has run 10.189@134.71....441ci LS1 and 415rwkw's Last edited by rodderz; 31-05-2005 at 09:18 PM. Reason: fixed up the double dutch |

Why did Ford continue with cast iron in the BA V8's and insist on stroking it out to max capacity with usual piston speed rev limiting probs associated with that.
The 4.6L 4 valve Mustang motors a beauty but the 5.4 in XR* and BOSS 32 valve config has great heads and flows but is just overstroked and ultimately too heavy for an engine that can't be reved high enough to produce really great power like the alloy Gen IV. Old OHV technology in new Alloy block construction is provong very hard to beat! |

That said the Mustang Cobra R, and Ford GT both use the same bore/stroke and rev to 7000rpm, the Boss just needs some good rods etc. Last edited by Bossxr8; 30-05-2005 at 05:11 PM. |
