My wife has well and truly trodden chewing gum into the carpet of her SP23. Can anyone advise how to get it out?

For memory you use ice and get it real cold and it will come off, I think that this has to be done straight away however?
Commercial cleaner is next. |

Sledgehammer's got it: a bag of ice on it, freeze it and pick it off bit by bit as it freezes.
and isn't there a commercial cleaner at the supermarkets called 'gunk off' or something like that? it's advertised to take off chewy and other sticky muck. |
