Default Legislation & Technology

I've often stated that technology is evolving so fast that legislation simply can't keep up. Only last week we read about some poor driver getting a ticket cos he could see a screen being held by his passenger. With the coming of electric cars every car sold will have a big screen right in the centre console. Just what will the cops do then. Here is part of the advertising blurb for the new electric MG coming out in September.

The interior and safety offerings are also industry standard (i.e. lots) with the interior featuring an 8” colour touchscreen incorporating satellite navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth phone connectivity, audio streaming and DAB radio.

I have to wonder what will be the reaction of our law enforcers?
Or will it be open slather on all drivers of electric vehicles.
