Post Ford Everest has been caught testing in the Swedish snow.

It’s already been spotted in the Melbourne CBD and Victorian countryside but now the new Ford Everest has been caught testing in the Swedish snow.

The Ranger-based SUV is moving closer to production even though the bodywork remains a rudimentary hybrid of the Ranger front paired with the rear end of a Territory.

Although Ford has been quiet on the Everest ever since it revealed the concept at the Go Further event in Sydney in 2013, more details about the seven-seat SUV continue to emerge.

One test mule spotted was seen with a different, more complex and refined, suspension than the working-class Ranger. That adds weight to Ford’s claims that the Everest will offer class-leading ride when it goes up against the likes of the Holden Colorado 7 and Mitsubishi Challenger, which have been criticised for their commercial-like ride comfort.

That will also help ease the gap left by the Territory when it stops production in 2016, as its replacement, the US-sourced Edge, is only expected to be offered as a five-seater.
