Default Gaining certificates?

Hey all.

I been thinking of getting a few certificates under my belt lately. As some know I was kicked out of school in yr7 so some things ain't as easy for me.

Is getting certificates like retail, RCG and RSA as simple as going to a tafe and signing up for it?

Cheers.

RSA and RSG are done through outside providers.
My missus did hers at the local RSL club one Saturday.
Google RSA and RSG training in your local area and see what comes up.

While your at it, do a fist aid course. Doesn't matter what line of work you are in it will always come in handy, looks good on the resume and might even getter you a few extra dollars on the pay slip

The two best courses you can do are TAE/TAA training and assessment and a Cert IV in OH&S

These two are the biggest career drivers IMO and Govt funding means you pay bugger all.

Biggest thing that screws me over is being on a carer pension. Centre link will probably crap the ***** if I'm doing tafe courses. But I want to do them to get off the pension straight to a job cause I can't afford to not be on a payment at the moment. Kinda sucks.

I just had my RSA and certificate I in Hospitality paid for by the company I work for; however there is a program the government is funding at the moment called Skills for All which will pay for the whole course if you are eligible. It's pretty good and if you are currently working it will take into account when you work and help you out with not having class times on when you work.

Just realized it's for SA only. Long shot. But even if you are not in SA you can still get at least your RSA online for around $160. It is however more preferential to have received it whilst working for a company. I was discussing doing mine online with the Head of Food and Beverage at the Hotel I work for and he told me he'd put my name down for the course as well as my cert I. Apparently it is better for your resume to have done the course through an employer.

I'm about to do my Certificate II and hopefully if I'm not too late can change this and do a Certificate IV then a diploma.
