Hi,
Since I pretty much always put 98 RON Optimax in my car due to convenience of the local Shell servo and Coles dockets etc ![]() I don't realy want to put in an aftermarket chip though. I know there was an APR 98RON tune for my previous car (VW Golf) which did this, but this may have involved putting in an aftermarket chip. Cheers, MK |

Sorry man the only way to do it is via after market chip... You are looking at about $1100 to get this done
You will get more performance and fuel econ but! Russ

The engines knock sensor should be picking up the fact is running a higher octane fuel and adjust itself accordingly, but it has limits, and won't give you as much performance as a proper tune. But you should still get more out of the tank of fuel.

I accidently put 91 in my ST the other day, thankfully only $20 worth, and honestly didnt notice 1 bit of difference at all.
Not that i will be doing that in future though, still seemed very much the same. Chris

yeah they'll all survive the lower fuel, but Chris you probably mixed the fuel with some primo anyway so it wouldn't have had full effect. Run 2-3 tanks thru and you'll see it drop dead in performance...
