Default Just not my night.

Well it's 2:00am.. been at the police station for the past couple of hours. Worst night ever.

Went to a mates place for drinks after work tonight (i was driving but, so no drinking for me). All the work people there, 15 or so of us, then a couple of bunches of local blokes (17-20yros / 15 or so of them) rock up, they're a bit loud and what not but generally not too bad (i know a about 3 or 4 of them pretty well).

So this real idiot that is ****ed off his head is screaming on the singstar (playstation kareoke), everyones scattered around the house, 10 or so in the lounge room - mainly my mates. This guy is spilling beer and what not all over my mates house while screwing about, one of my mates (young kid from work, only 16) makes a comment like 'you suck' in regards to this blokes singing, bloke turns around (he's 18) and says 'who said that, i'll bash em, whatever'... little kid from work looking a tad worried turns away and says nothing, so i say 'me'.. this guy is like 'yeah come on'.. i make the usual 'when your ready mate' comment, he starts rolling up his sleeves and walking over to me telling me to go outside and 'we'll sort it out'... we're in each others faces, he goes to take a swing and i dropped him on the ground quick smart and put him in a head lock.. he's helpless, so i say 'now you're not going to do anything when i let you go, blah blah, just walk away'... so i let him go and he makes a few toughy comments and walks out the back.

He then comes back to me just before he was about to leave and shakes my hand and says sorry for being an idiot, no hard feelings - i agree and say no problems, see ya mate.

He leaves via a car out the front on the road (although he didnt leave).. they/him drove up to the neighbours place, pulled their letterbox out of the ground.. comes back to my mates place - AND STARTS USING THE LETTERBOX LIKE A *** HAMMER ON MY CAR! My car now has about 4k worth of damage due to this friggin idiot kid. Smashed windscreen, bonnet is completely wrecked, front bumper damaged.

No one saw him do it, but we were all in side and heard a noise, wondered what was that, thought nothing of it (music was going and what not). Went to go out to my car 10 mins later to go how and thats when i saw the damage.

Not happy at all :(

Police are confident he will pay up - chose not to press charges and instead just to get the police to do the best they can to get me the money to pay for it - if not i'm fairly sure insurance will cover it.

You save for a car since you're 13 just to have some idiot do this to it in a matter of seconds - so annoyed.

-Matt

I guess in the first place .... which would have saved getting your car damaged ... so to sit their quietly and not said anything (see as it wasn't you who told they guy he sucked).

I guess for future reference it is best to steer clear of conflict in the first place.

I hope he pays up though.

Too many idiots in this world. I can safely say, out of nearly everyone I know, if I told them they sucked, they'd admit they sucked.

This guy is a tool. Bluff him with a letter of demand, he's young, maybe he will get scared. If he doesn't respond, letter of demand with legal action, you have proof, well at least say you do.

It's just a bluff, unless somebody there saw it, no doubt the chicken *** did it though.

Can't win a fight so he battles a defenceless car.

All the best man. Take him to town.

Make an insurance claim, quoting your Police Job number, and let your insurance company sort it out. This is why you have insurance. They will fix your car immediatly, and he will pay, if not, its their problem!
Was anybody who was in the car with him man enough to stand up and say it was him. If not, you could be screwed, need to prove it was him, and from what you say happened, you can not pin it on him , legally!
Also insurance may require him to be charged. Big men turn to mice at court in front of the Man first time, my experience with them has shown!

Cheers,
Mike

Yeah. Even if they don't require it then it would make your case all that much better.

Not sure how you are going to prove it was him. Fingerprint smight help but they probably won't take them in a case like this. Maybe they should!

i feel for you mate,
get onto your insurance company asap,no proof = no win,so just use bluff.
nothing stopping you flogging him at a later date.just remember no witness's = no charges.never ever admit, but Karma might do it too, although the people who have hurt me or my family over the years always seem to prosper more than me so i dont really believe in Karma.

That's why I don't drink, go to parties or have friends.
If you can identify him your insurance will cover you, but make sure you have his phone number. GIO tried to make my dad pay excess because he didn't get a phone number, luckily for him it was in the book. Bogan (housing commission in an EA) woman ran up the back of his 4 month old car and then told him off for stopping at an orange light. "i hope you have insurance because I don't" was what the mall mammoth said.

Yeah its pretty rough mate, but don't go using violence so sort stuff out it'll rarely be a good outcome if you take that route, anyways your insurance company should shaft him pretty well anyway

Insurance excess is $750, damage repairs will be about $2500 total - so i'm going to try find out exactly who knows what today, and then i've gotto go to the cop shop. I just want the guy to own up and for my car to be fixed...

What a nutter.....

What he did was so over the top its scary....leave it with coppers and insurance company.

Hopefully he has lost the chance of ever being invited to any party again....how could you trust him not to spill beer and/or blood.

Some behavior you shouldn't let people get away with. I'd get this guy charged ASAP and then work with the insurance company to get this clown to pay for it. If he doesn't get busted for it now, chances are he'll do something similar in the future when he doesn't like what someone says about him. Next time it might be a person he goes to town on.

the thing that doesn't make sense is that the conflict was over.. A handshake and sorry usually means the situation with the goose was resolved. It is very unusual for someone to do a double flip flop, even more so if he was drunk. The adrenaline rush of aggravation had passed.. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of his mates and not him.

Yeah, but with kids these days, I wouldn't of been suprised if he said it just so they'd all go back inside and think everything is fine while they smash his car.

People do dodgy things.

Feel for ya man, I've had my car damaged too buy a ****er who wouldn't keep his mouth shut and I was just sticking up for myself and others. Sucks when they can't even face you and instead just go for an easy target like your ride.

That's exactly what i thought, i suspected it was the guy that picked him up. But the guy that picked him up turns out to be a mate of a mate and is going to make a statement (along with everyone else in the car) that the guy i had the blue with did do it.

Should be resolved reasonably soon i hope.

I'm normally a very calm person. Never been in a fight in my life... but I would loose my mind if someone did that to me!... I'd take a letter box and bust his knee caps so he'd never walk right again. Try forgetting that dipsh!t.

For someone who takes pride in their wheels, there is nothing worse than someone screwing with it. Nothing makes me mad like that does. I feel for ya dude. Really do.
