Default Reccommendations for Punk Rock/Rock Bands

Reading previous band threads I started downloading songs from bands such as breaking benjamin, that I loved! As I was a pretty hard core punk rocker back in high school (6-8 years ago) then turning to metal (which I still love), I have started to crave some good rock/punk rock music from today's bands, so if anyone can recommend some bands that play some good music that is pretty aggressive id love to hear about it! As a reference I loved bands like strung out, Millencolin, Offspring (Smash of course) etc... So any suggestions and il download some to see if I like it!

So far ur all in the era im talking about, im trying to move out of the 90's, my mate's CD wallet has nothing but Bad Religion. NOFX, Millencolin, Strung Out, Guttermouth, Black Flag, Propaghandi etc.. I love all this music all ur suggestions are what I would make to anybody wanting to get into Punk, but Im looking for "what are the kids listening to?" as im now more into metal bands that playing an aggressive style of punk rock i think will appeal to me!!!

mate if your looking for uber aggressive punk..you could try a perth band called Nailed Down for ripping some crusty punk hatred. Unfortunately, most of their releases can only be found on rare flexi vinyl, but one or two cd's also.

What are the kids listening to? Emo.

Sadly, punk is dead. Besides the old bands who are still together.

I'm sure someone will prove me wrong with a list of obscure Canadian bands or something, but that might as well be dead.

Im quite dissapointed from the fact it seems no bands seem to realise punk rock was the S**T in the 90's! Well I'll have to stick to metal! Nothing beat "ultimate Devotion", by Strung Out, and others. Anyone that can reccommend hard rock/metal bands such as bbeaking benjamin/ deftones/ Karnivool/ etc.. than plese do!!!!

Basically i like heavy stuff but anything with a good bit of melody thrown in is always good, can't stand stuff that is just flat out screamo for 3-4 minutes, gotta have some melody to change it up a bit! At the moment really into Killswitch Engage, Chaimera, Caliban, but also really into not as heavy stuff such as Deftones etc..

have you heard of Lamb of God?

its "metalcore" its pretty much all screaming, but there are breakdowns, and a lot of melodies, although they are plenty fast :P

Stay with the 90's especially the Smashing Pumpkins, they've even just gotten back together and are recording a new album so you can say it's new stuff!
