gday fellas
i have an asus ati x600 graphics card and it s0x for games, play games like rome: total war and gta:sa and it always crashes, it will freez then properly crash and screen will go blank recently got a dvd copy of windows xp off my friend, had a list of programs pre installed to installation of windows, he said there was no need to install graphics card as it had it on there or something, i decided to install anywayz, but the computer just craps itself and only has avalible lowest colour and 800x600 rezolution i reformated and thought bugger it, it was working fine b4 should be alright, streight away after playin a game it freezes and crashes so i have to manual restart, iv try downloading latest drivers and apps, but nothing works can someone help me out here, i dont want to have to upgrade the computer so soon :( cheers |

hah, yeah that xp copy really sucks, just getting the normal version at the moment then the reinstalling can be possible

open your case, unplug the ram and plug it back in. is your case dirty inside? is it well ventilated? unplug the video card and put it back in firmly. give it a try.
can you fill in the following? CPU: Motherboard: RAM: PSU (watt): failing that... get a cd version of xp pro. do NOT use that dvd pre-installed rubbish. boot from xp cd. erase everything, delete all partitions format hd and install xp install all updates, sp2, install latest version of your motherboard chipset drivers, get latest ati drivers i think there was another recent release. get some decent anti spyware programs. i recommend spywareguard and spywareblaster available free at www.javacoolsoftware.com update them both get the latest updates for any software you are trying to run. failing that, post again and we'll see about testing the ram etc

the case isnt really dust, but i guess a thura clean would be a good idea it has a few fans for ventilation ill check this out and reformat n see how goes |

also just have a look at the video card when u power on and see if its fan is spinning

fan is running fine as far as i know, its more louder over the cpu fan
