Default New Posts?

I use the "New Posts" link at the top of the page to browse active threads here, however i'm noticing (increasingly so) that some threads will stay on the "New Posts" page, and have a Last Post date stamp of say 24/10/2005 @ 2:35pm by user XYZ. However when you click on the link for "Last Page" which takes you to the last page in the thread, and the latest post should be at the bottom of that page, it shows that the Thread was indeed last updated by XYZ, however at 24/10/2005 @ 10:12am.

Just a little odd behaviour.... :

you might find they are a poll, and someone as voted but not commented.. Afaik a fresh vote puts it back onto current time as reply?

Well - then if that is the case, it isn't quite a 'new post' now is it?

Frrom the software perspective it is. I tend to close those threads when I notice them to stop them from popping up with no extra posts.

there is a setting in the forum software that prevents people posting on old polls bringing them back to the top...

HERE HERE! Glad to hear it XACOUPE! I can't stand when a poll revives from 12 months ago, just cause some spannerhead votes.
