Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!
Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week Taking the classic route in the styling department, this little Torana looked like it had rolled straight out of the 70’s and onto our drag strip; running a best time of 16.36 @ 83.1 MPH. Top Ford of the Week This week’s top ford went to this WIDE falcon ute, making the most of ambient air with some tough looking bonnet vents and cruising down the quarter mile in a comfortable 12.53 @111.6 MPH. Top Japanese of the Week The Toyota Cressida is not a shape we’re used to spotting down at Sydney Dragway, though this particular Toyota was no luxury cruzer, blasting down the quarter mile in 12.96 @ 109.3 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week This little Mazda RX2 was an awesome example of how to do a classic rotary, the simple styling and original colour looked great as it stopped the clock at 13.70 @ 99.1 MPH. Top European of the Week It’s not too often that we see the MK5 R32 take on the quarter mile, though this first timer managed a 14.00 @ 97.6 MPH while looking very menacing as the all black VW cruised down the track. Commentators Pick of the Week This week’s commentators pick went to this beautiful XP Falcon, driven by a P plater no less! It’s great to see the younger generation driving these classic cars, finishing up his night with a 15.09 @ 93.0 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Next Race4Real is this Wednesday January 27th 2016.
