Hi all,
Just got my security licence and was wondering if anyone has any leads on how to go about getting some casual work as a guard or bouncer or patrol or whatever. I spend too much money on Friday and Saturday nights I figure if I'm working I won't be able to spend so much I've applied to MSS, Chubb, Securezone and K9 so far. So if anyone has any info that can help let me know. Cheers.

Guys appreciate the help, no vacancies at Wilson and Statewide only employ experienced.
Don't currently have my firearms licence but probably would be worth getting. Appreciate any help that anyone else can offer.

Try this link Fg Frodza.
http://www.asial.com.au/Jobs It includes online career resources and everything you need to develop a path in the industry. I may be wrong, but I think you can put your own profile so that prospective employers can see. On the other hand, if your just looking for a weekend job, not a career, and it sounds like you are, try Liamsons Security. I recommend them and they do patrol, guards, alarm response etc. Also Unified Security Group, based at Whyalla but they are growing in this state and branching out. Trouble is, they only use Seek.com.au. Another is http://www.agsecurity.com.au/careers/1177/ they are always requiring people. The problem you may have, is you will need to be available 24/7 on call, not just weekends and if you aren't, you will find it difficult to get work with a reputable company. Good luck

Yeah mate you're right, I'm just looking for casual work. I have a full time job which sees me unavailable 6.30 to 3 Mon - Fri but outside of these hours I would be happy for a bit of work.

Thanks Naish it's for the same company that Ivan works for so he might have had something to do with getting me in for an interview. Appreciate the help.

He's the kind of guy who would have looked into it for you and quietly set something up. I hope your interview goes well

ya with the contractor side they pay you a rate (dont know what it is ) and you have to do your own tax ect. I was lucky i was the last full timer they put on. Good job you pick up the car and dont see any boss's for the shift just welfare calls every couple of hours. good job but alarms calls can be a pain
