Default South Australia short holiday

Hey all,

Looking for some ideas as to where to go for a short 3-4 day holiday in South Australia in a couple of weeks time.

I have been to all the websites but I'm kind of looking for personal experiences..

And I have just been to Kangaroo Island so that's out.

Any help appreciated and yes I know I live in the most boring state haha.

Try Mt Gambier and surrounding districts, plenty of things to do in the South East. Google the limestone coast.

I second this. I've spent a bit of time down that way recently and there is a heap to see. Caves, sink holes, coast, crater lakes, volcanoes. Check out Mt Shank. Its a short hike but steep and is a really impressive extinct volcano.

Yorke Peninsula is always a winner. Marion Bay and then onto Innes National Park is a top spot.

for a short 3-4 day holiday id be doing the great ocean rd. get out of SA. can do the GOR very relaxed in 3 days. 2 days is easy to do it in aswell, then on your last day drive back from Geelong.

Or if your looking for a place to relax cant go past Halls Gap, half a day drive there, few days relaxing, doing some bush walks, half a day driving back.

Everywhere in SA can be done as day trips, or overnight trips. unless you get into the flinders.

If your gonna cross the border to Victoria, check out your rear view mirror, they reackon the best part of Victoria is the road back to Adelaide...

Apart from that, Yorke Peninsula (Pt Vincent foreshore spa cabins, Innes N.P. etc.)
Pt Lincoln and the west coast.

I'd avoid the Flinders at this time of year, best time is late June early July, much more hospitable.

I sent mum away on the overland train from Melbourne to Adelaide and put her in the Stamford Grand or something hotel on recommendation here, she enjoyed it there on Glenelg.

Apparently the beach is really nice and the market is really good.

Might not be your kinda thing though.

Thanks for all the helpful posts guys.

Big Damo, Glenelg is a nice place you are spot on there but I live in he next suburb over so wouldn't be much of a trip haha.

Limestone coast sounds like a winner.. Naracoorte caves, Blue Lake, beautiful spot..

Thanks a lot guys, still keen for ideas for things to do whilst down there!
