Meeting place is Elite Automotive, map & address HERE.

Meet at 10:30 for 11am departure.

Things to remember to wear/bring:
Hat;
Sunnies;
Stout boots/shoes;
Long Pants (perhaps bring shorts too incase we're in a suitable area);
I think we have enough drinks to cover us, but if you get the chance bring your own;
We have your food covered;
I have sunscreen & panadol with me;

Dazzler said something about handwash on the phone to me earlier on, I can bring an esky and some more ice too! Somehow I don't think Mum would be too happy with me flogging her kitchen gear....

The handwash needs to be the self drying, waterless stuff. If no-one has any, I will try to get some when I pick up the snags & bread tomorrow morning.

Hi Mate, thanks for your generous offer

I have had quite a few PM's with offers of donations and at this stage I have been declining as I really don't know if we'll be successful. I'd hate to take donations that might have been better spent on the formal appeal sites.

By tomorrow afternoon, I will have a mch better idea of where we are at and if successful will be happy to take donations to replenish for the Sunday shift.

Please, if you are happy to donate, drop your name in here so I know who to contact should things all go to plan.

Thanks again,

Scott

Hi Mate,

The plan tomorrow is to go to an area that has hungry people in it and give them a sausage sandwich, drink and maybe a cupcake and choccy if rations stretch far enough.

I figured that lots of people would be going home to places that are hot, wet, stink, have no power and rotten food in them... so I thought a BBQ might be nice for them.

At this stage, I have no plans for myself, or any of the other generous forum contributors to clean up, but you never really know until we get there.

Awesome - perhaps later in the day to offer the blokes a bit of a break or cover anyone who has to head off early?

Sunday would be good too, I am starting to think we could run a few kitchens if we could scrape together enough cash for supplies.

The Monty is bringing a heap of meat on Sunday - will need all the other stuff to go with it too.

I heard yesterday that no one was allowed to enter a house for clean up if it wasn't checked by a sparky first???????

So why is so many risking themselves in un checked houses?????????

please be careful guys , just do what you intended do & not help with clean up if the house is unsafe electricity wise?????????

The government said they would need a certificate from a sparky before they would reconnect houses neways. I guess the system isnt fool proof tho, there will be houses that get reconnected as soon as the substations are turned back on.

Just another thing that will burden home owners, any electricians out there with nothing to do that can discount for some of these people?? I am just so greatful none of my properties were affected, the small effort and money put towards feeding these people tomorrow is nothing!! Sadly there will be still people going to the magic millions tomorrow without a care in the world...

FREE BBQ for a start, I wonder if we should consider a limit per person so we can hit more people? I'm no pro at feeding anyone, let alone myself - perhaps Gecko might have some experience to guide us on this?

How about you print a few signs with ONE, TWO and a couple with PER PERSON on them just incase? Only to pull out if we decide we need them.
