You would have to have had lived on mars, under a rock in a cave with your fingers in your ears to have not heard about the 'Financial Crisis'.
But, (not that its any of my business, but I'm curious) will this affect your spending this Festive Season? This year, our family has decided to do a Kris Kringle amoung the adults, and just look after the kids so to speak. In past years we've spent hundreds maybe thousands of dollars on Christmas presents. So, what are you lot doing?

Maybe I am not rich enough but the financial crisis has not affected me at all, in fact if it's truly responsible for bringing interest rates down and fuel down then "BRING IT ON"

Same as usual for me as I never have enough money to spend at christmas.
The financial crisis hasn't affected me either although it did slow up things at work. Apart from that the only other knock on effect is the lower fuel prices as I dont have a home loan.

For the first time in 3 years I'll spend it at home, thanks largely to the slow down in work. So every cloud has a silver lining

I have already finished all my christmas shopping (picked up last few things two weeks ago).. So, christmas as usual in this household
I did the same as I do every year, start my christmas shopping in July and in January I put a few dollars into a christmas club account for the food and fuel side of things :

I think I'm going to be a little bit more cautious given the current status. The family and close friends will be getting some decent things, but everyone will be getting things that have been re-gifted with the c#@p I don't want.

Because we don't have much of a family (Mum's family are >swear filter<, and Dad was an only child with both parents deceased), Christmas for us is a small affair.
We only enjoy a lunch, with presents being kept to a minimum as the value of Christmas does not lie in gifts for us, but in company, and being thankful that we have a house, good food, and live in a safe country.

Apologies to anyone that's effected by the crisis, but its working for me. I work for a union and the crazy job market in the past was not a good driver for people to join. My job will be even more solid in future.

I wouldn't say that we are "going crazy" with spending this Christmas, but the kids will have plenty to open as usual. The wife starts shopping in July and puts things on layby or buys them over the last 6 months. However, we are trying to keep a lid on costs and not go overboard.

WILL spend up big on particular items, but all spare funds going to pay off outstanding debts over the next 6 months, sooner even.
Do enjoy the break people, but be realistic with expenditures.

The only crisis i have atm is
1) gearbox needs fixing, otherwise im screwed. 2) need to pay excess from being sideswiped a few weeks ago whilst i was in bed(car on the street - no note) 3) my girlfriend was just EFFING ROBBED. Lost everything of value she had(about 4k worth of stuff which is alot for a 20yr old on her own with no immediate family in the state) - of which i will be supporting her and replacing a few things that were stolen which i bought/gave her 4) 5th year anniversary with my girlfriend aswell im going to be scrounging the streets for loose change.. atleast fuel is cheap at the moment!

Intrest rates are down, fuel is coming down, and there are lots of sales because of "The Financial Crisis"
I will be affected, but not in a bad way. Qantas is doing deals on flights overseas during the Xmas period too!

It wouldn't, only got a bit saved up but it'll do me. Might just grab a watch for myself and help out mum with buying that new couch. Mostly I look forward to the family gatherings and the food during Christmas.

We'll be sweet.
There are loads of good specials on in all retailers at the moment (we saved 40% on a new xmas tree), so get out there and keep your bargain eye open.
