it woas some one who worked for Ford's drive car or perhaps a pool car it jsut means ford was the first registerd owner

from personal history it means nothing I had an NC that was Geoff Polities Drive car when he was the DP of City ford every bodgy quick fix known to man for this model had been applied in its first 12months of life right down to a big screw through the heater flap to save replacing the blendor motor

Means it was owned by Ford, but with those kays it sounds like it would have been a pool car, meaning employees can take them home on loan etc, it was probarly also a media test car in its earlier day... With those kays its just like buying a used car, nothing special.

Buying a media/press car is like buying a ex-rental car

Thrashed to within inches of its life, mistreated and abused

Advertsied that way to give the impression that all servicing and warranty work would be performed to the highest standard

Presumably because the monkeys behind the service desk wouldn't be game to tell a boss "There all like that mate, nothing we can do....."

my au3 Fairmont Wagon was a car like that. 18000kms in 6 months. I have had the car 4 years and it has 135000kms on the clock. Been very reliable, the best FORD I have owned.

Ex Ford Exectuive, , means that they are naming it that to make people think it is special, and a good buy.

When it was probably the shop hack, for anyone to drive , all day long and night, and flog it as they feel

My XR6 was a ford exec driven vehicle. I think they are good options. Also I think they class you as the original owner as the vehicle was still owned by ford.

My car was optioned with Sunroof, Premium Sound, premium Brakes, leather and came with the VCT so it got IRS. Mine is a series 3. Car was well priced at the dealership.

I got the car when it was 18 months old, had done 24,000 at the time. So far from flogged or driven into the ground. Have 87,000 and has been mechanically sound. At 24,000 k's it averages out at about 16,000 k's each year.

Hey Buck,

Yeah, I agree - Sounds like you did very well!

There is so much to like and thrashing isnt so much the issue, as what 2nd hand V8 isnt going to be and Im going to do it also!

But you put your average at 16,000kms a year... I just think 41,000kms is just a bit too many, especially within one year and with so many 'Ford Employees' in the car... For the same price there are BFXR8's with less than 16,000kms, but also without leather, prem. sound, sat nav, etc...

Bloody hell, why cant I have everything for nothing??!

41,000 is high. While think about it, the car may have only had 24,000 on it, but I have no idea how long the dealership had the car for. Maybe have been there for a number of months.

Mine may have been driven by someone in management at headquarters. Maybe thats why I got some extra's. I really wish I had the history of the car. Wonder if anyone at ford can help me.

Anyway, mines still going well. Good luck with what you decide. Hope you get the right deal.

I looked at a BA2 Futura wagon that I found was an ex Ford Exec car. Had pretty low keys and was absolutly mint. I've had to put 4 day old press cars back together after media launches in the past so I tend to figure out if it's a press hack or demo. Some of them should be sent to the scrappers when they are finished I tell you.

I understood that a lot of the "Executive Driven' cars were actually ex-rentals.

My Force 8 was such a vehicle. It means its second hand, nothing more. You will find this out when you go to sell it. You will be considered as the 2nd owner. Especially if you trade it back to a Ford dealer.

An ex-Ford executive drove it, possibly Jac Nasser.

Hi. Just like that yellow car over there is "a one owner" car, but it was owned by yellow cabs and had 57 drivers. Cheers MD

With old police cars it's always a detective's car or supervisor's car (no puke in the back seat).
