I LOVE MY GIRL! Help please!

Ive been with my girlfriend for a year now and thinking about asking her to marry me....

A lot of people think a year is too soon, but I know I will spend the rest of my life with her so I think the time is right.

Does anyone have any great ideas on a real romantic way to do it? Im kinda a dunce in that department.

I nearly did it the other night during 'you know what' and of course thats a very bad idea!

So what do you all think?

Well if u feel like it's the right time then u do it! It's ur choice mate not ours...But if u REALLY think ur going to spend the rest of ur life with her then go for it!

Personally a nice exhaust, turbo and set of mags should do the trick, maybe a quick dress up with a clay bar and wax.

I hope she is garaged so there is no temptation at night.

Remind her that if she gives you any trouble then its back to the lot for a trade in.

do the right thing and ask her dad first and its not that soon , just make sure you live together for a long time. you can stay engaged for a long time you don't have to get married strait away

But yes, Ive lived with her for the past 8 months, and everything has been smooth sailing. Thanks Melz, yeah she loves her fluffy dice lol

Some advice a great friend gave me was,
A lot changes in the 12-18 month period though.
I'd wait 6 months but as you've said YOU are ready & you just need some ideas I wont contaminate your thread any longer.
Scan some junk mail with her & first assess what she likes in a ring. A lot of girls like white gold these days. They'll all like diamonds if bought a decent one. Try not to be obvious when fishing for preferences.

general ideas are fine but it'd be best to let everyone know where you are for some specific ideas.
Harbor cruises in Sydney perhaps.
Melbourne, go to the top of the rialto tower (much better in summer, 6 months time)

, have something to eat/drink, enjoy the view and if your nerves are ok, tell her how you feel about her & reveal the ring + question.

Next the Wedding Ring.
Then the Suffering.

How old are you both? Have you been out with lots of girls before this one? Be very sure before you make a commitment you may regret.

Now, if you are after proposal suggestions, I think you can't beat a romantic dinner at a restaurant that you can't afford (no, I don't mean Hungry Jack's). Have your dinner and then say to her you have pre-ordered dessert. Ask the waiter to put the Engagement Ring on a plate with a cover and present it to her (make sure you tell him to disappear after). Then ask her the big question.

Ohh.. and make sure you keep the receipt for the ring, just in case..LOL

Firstly, a year is not too soon if ya love her mate.

Heres some ideas for popping the question:

1. propose at a family dinner, that way, she cant say no.

2. propose in a public place like myer shopping centre, so she cant say no.

3. propose at McDonalds, after you buy yourselves a happy meal

4. get down on your knees and pleasure her first...

5. do it during sex, while shes screaming yes

i would personally take her to the beach, whatever she likes, do it romantic,

whatever u do get down on your knee and ask...girls love that .

i've been engaged for over four years and nothing has really changed in the way we go about our business from what it was like before the engagement. So yes, you can still be engaged for a while before you have to tie the knot. We'll do it some day, when we can be bothered :P

Do what I did, offer her a new car or a ring. I knew mine was a keeper when she chose the car! That swift little move might have cost me a couple of bucks but it has given me years of payback.

ps - I got the bum end somehow, we were married four years later, and yes, she still has her engagement car..... and the rings.
