Doesn't matter about rego, you still need to get the ID/numbers check. Unless you're meaning it doesn't need a full regency inspection, which would be correct then.
They also check minor things (during a Tier 2). Girl i worked with inherited her aunties car, and they made her rip the tint off before they'd pass it.
I bought one of my cars in VIC and it was 5 minutes checking the numbers and then it was all good (and then line up at the normal TransportSA office for plates)
