Default QLD: Hot Lap Opporetunity in Skelta G-Force

A rare opportunity to ride alongside driver Ray Vandersee in the revolutionary Skelta G-Force sports car will present itself on Friday August 3 at Queensland Raceway near Ipswich.

Fresh from victory at the inaugural Aeromil Pacific Suncoast Classic tarmac rally event, the Skelta G-Force sports car is without doubt one of the quickest road registered competition vehicles in the country.

The fact that Vandersee’s self designed Honda powered creation has also wowed onlookers at this year’s Targa Tasmania event, collecting most overall stage wins (23) with Vandersee at the helm, makes the hot lap opportunity all the more attractive to fans and potential purchasers.

“We’ll have both the competition vehicle and one of the regular road registered vehicles running around the track all day so people can gain a greater appreciation of what this unique car is all about,” said Vandersee.

“Never before has there been an opportunity like this and we’re hoping to entice those wanting to gain a close up look at all the dynamics of the Skelta in motion, in a controlled racetrack environment.

“In conjunction with Sherrin Motorsport we’re able to provide a number of high speed laps around the 3.12 kilometre circuit with a morning tea and luncheon package all inclusive for just fifty-five dollars.”

The Skelta hot laps are part of a full driver training orientation being instigated by Sherrin Motorsport.

Bookings for the Skelta hot laps can be made direct through Ray Vandersee at r.vandersee@skelta.com.au

Meantime on the competition front the Mt Buller sprint in the Victorian Alps from November 3-5 is on the radar plus another possible venture Interstate for the Queensland campaigner.

“We’ve been talking to a few people about doing Targa West in Perth on 6 – 9 September but ultimately our budget constraints may very well stall any progress on that.

“We’d love to initiate a Targa West campaign and maybe our victory at the Suncoast Classic may prompt a potential sponsor to come on board for a one-off event opportunity.

“I’d be confident enough in the performance of the Skelta to almost guarantee a podium.”
