hi guys, iv decided to ditch the uni chip in my XR8 and just run the stock tune. From what i can see, the unichip just splices into the main loom, and since i cant be bothered finding one of these blank plugs i think ill just re-join the color coded wires. So all i need are the steps to reset the ECU. Are there any problems people have comea across while trying to reset the ECU's?

Once you're correctly rejoined your loom just unplug your battery for an hour and when you reconnect it your ECU should just reset itself to it's default setting then as you drive around the ECU will re-learn and retune itself to your engine and driving style. There shouldn't be any issues assuming everything else is as it should be, ie. your sensors are all functioning as they should.

After reconnecting the battery, you could speed up the relearning process a little by
1. Letting the car idle with the aircon off for 5 minutes and 2. Let the car idle with the aircon on for 5 minutes. It just helps the ecu get an idea of base idle quicker. Cheers, GK

well, i removed the unichip after work today, and would have to say that iv noticed an increase in power. Mainly up around the top RPM range (also seems to have stopped pinging). The idle at first start up is a bit low, but once its warmed up or iv driven it, it stays at a constant 800RPM, so im hoping the idle at first start up will improve.
