Default Aussie Car Enhancements @ Calder

Well after attending 4 AME (Ford v Holden Nationals) Shows for the year with our BA XR8 Manual Ute and taking out 3 Trophies for the Highest Horsepower N/A Boss in the Dyno Comps. We thought we might now try our hand at the 1/4 mile.

Went to Calder last night and ran 13.79 down to the last three runs that netted 13.20's. All about 102 to 103 MPH and a couple of sixty footers in the 1.9's.

The car felt really good (Only the third time i have been down the 1/4 mile Oh 4th actually went on a BMX bike at Heathcote about 15 years ago and ran 59.00 secs) although towards the end i think the standard clutch is wearing a bit thin. All in all it was a fun night with some more potential when we get some more laps.

Looking forward to the Andrew Berry Nats at Heathcote next week.

Regards Craig

I used Mickey Thomson ET Street Radials, my old mate Chris did the tune.
We still had the Dyno tune in the car but i will be over to Chris's during the week to put a 1/4 mile tune in it. We have been playing with a few little thing that seem to be coming along nicely.

Good stuff Craig, nice to see the white beast out having a crack

I know what you're on about about the stocky clutch...mines done nearly 55,000km and about 15+ drag meetings and the things buggered...makes hard to get a good launch and some snap on the gear change!

I thought the lanky dude was resposbible, I was just down at Chris's last week for new tune, just waiting for some decient weather (not 36c) to do a number with the new tune and maybe some other things that will hold up to my antics lol.
Cant go wrong with them tyres there great Im nearly at my markers should be interesting in the future 60' wise.

Jeez you got a good run out of the std clutch Rodders mine lasted about 12000k's. Not much fun in a manual when the clutch is not performing.

Yeah i reckon with a tune up and a good clutch and some more experience the thing should run in the 12's. The clutch was that bad it was harder to push in than the Nitro Funny Car in the warm up.......

Watched some video today and have already learn't a few things for next week at Heathcote.

Thanks Chris & Laminge, yes Big Craig did a good job, when I drove it it had normal street radials and no fancy Chris tune up so you would expect 13.20's even with a 115kg driver.

Lets see how we all go on Sunday at Heathcote.
