[QUOTE=Rodge;4736532]What will it really be making at the rear wheels 260-270 rwkw's ??
I think my Maloo was making around 250 ATW Rodge, thats why I would never go back to an LS3 even with all the Gadgets, an LSA will be a whole different ball game + all the tech, If I won lotto I would seriously consider a GTS, but would also keep the GT.

Does FPV have the parts bin to rummage through like HSV has, to me it seems like they wouldn't.

Yes, probably even moreso now that Prodrive is out of the picture.

Not too sure on the numbers. but apparently there was a lot of people demanding there deposits back after being told the final price and seeing the final specs, and were disappointed that it fell well short of what was shown at the motorshow.

No, this is the prime reason HSV has more $$ to play with to add the goodies.

I "built" a GTS in black, on the official website. I'm a bit ashamed to say, I kinda liked it...

The front looked like an Aurion Sportivo, and the rear looked like a buffed Mazda 6 or Hyundai i45.

And I still liked it.....

There is a lot of talk about HSV being "mature" and "Euro" etc... now everyone think back to the AU days, where FTE's efforts were along the same lines. Infact, I recall some employees saying it was the whole intention...

And what do you know...they suffered criticism for the direction, being soft etc. Even the FG series was deemed soft and restrained compared to HSV's efforts.

Ford have been there, done that. Its not over yet FU is coming.

I think its because of vehicles such as the new GTS as to why ford is reluctant to release a HO...
There will be no guarantee that it would be on top of the pile and ford may not want to discredit the marque

I think its going to be an amazing piece of machinery... like it or not..

Well........
Falcon and Commodore have a limited time left......2016 / 2017 ?
So realistically - considering the HSV / Holden updates are released prior to the FORD updates - FORD could very well just wait until the Series 2 or 3 FU and then unleash .......a last Hurrah for the V8 Falc and quite fittingly called the FU.

I have nearly bought a SS or HSV several time in the last decade or so. Every time I do all the maths and research then I go to the dealership and it all falls apart. The most recent was SS/SSV ute vs XR6T/F6/GS ute.

The holdens looked reasonable and theoretically went well right up until I test drove them and was attacked by the salesman.

Interestingly each time I have knocked back the holden that was there ready to go and ordered another marque for which I had to wait many weeks.

Unfortunately that in itself will not be enough … just look at the R-Spec sales, there was some initial excitement but very few went out and actually bought one, dealers are still trying to sell their stock since then …

That’s the biggest issue most people have always had with FPV, they simply do not have the R&D to invest into all these additional goodies that HSV brings to the table, and now that Ford has taken over that means the allocated Falcon budget will also need to cover the FPV cars …

This like Torque Vectoring, MRC, EDI, Aluminium panels, huge racing brakes, ets … take a lot of R&D $$$ to develop.

My predictions are that the updated Falcon will get blind spot assist, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. It should also get keyless entry but Im skeptical about how much more they will throw at it above these things. Wider rubber on FPV's is a given (R Spec) and possibly the R Spec suspension package will be all it gets. Will we still have an F6? Doubtful. I also predict that we only end up with GT and possibly GT-P.

Care to elaborate, was the deal full of conditions and not inclusive of the package you specifically wanted?

I've heard this kind of story from several people that discount SS looks good until you try to access one
and then colours and options aren't available or it only applies to manual or auto and is only older plates ..ect...

With falcon..XR6 and XR6T, I haven't really hears and bad reports regarding accessibility, most are specific order
but most of us understand that waiting for the car you want is only a small inconvenience as opposed to regretting
the purchase of a car you didn't really want in the first place...

I think the circumstances are very different now compared to last year when I bought the R-Spec.

Holden have come out and confirmed this is the last Commodore to be designed here, this is probably one reason why it appears that a lot of deposits are being placed on the GTS. If the Falcon was in the same boat I'm sure the FPV's would be flying out the door.

Whereas with Ford there was initially rumour about FPV which turned into fact when Ford bought the Prodrive share; there is still no confirmation as to what will happen to Falcon and local manufacturing after 2016.

We shouldn't forget that VF will be a generation ahead of FG; we just have to wait to see what Ford will release next year.

The shape actually works ok in "regal peacock", even the rear end!

Rather unfortunate name that paint, but it looks pretty sweet.

Must have heard falcon ads on the radio at least 50 times today at work, good to see ford aren't just sitting back letting the sales go, they're at least doing some advertising.
Really hammering the 5 year warrenty thing too.

Hard job to steal some thunder from holden at the moment but they're trying at least.

Yeah but "vanilla" Ford buyers arent going to give a stuff about the GTS, let alone HSV. You can expect a few more things in coming weeks :-)

The only way Holden got the budget to do such an extensive mid-cycle upgrade and put all these new tech features into the VF is because they must have put a solid business case forward to GM for exports to the USA. There is no way its been done for the Australian market only.

Ford on the other hand, dont have any export opportunities. I don't expect to see even a fraction of this tech in the next Falcon. Its only hope is that it should look loads better than the Commodore.

Always remember this might be a little bit BS in the 440KW. Most likely 340KW to give them ****ing rights.
Plus a tuned 335, or F6 will still tramp the hsv. So don't hit the panic button just yet. Lets wait until they are road tested & Spiro gets one on the dyno. Then the real story will be reviled.....Oh and there is a contradiction to.
One says 440, & the handbag said 430kw????

Either way its gonna be a great car, & it is full of gizmo's that you probably wont use..
