Default Top Gear and SBS

Anyone else see top gear last night?
What was that at the end of the show when the credits rolled?

"Top Gear Got Burnt" "Bag of Money" "See Ya"

A little unprofessional and vindictive on SBS's part no?
What was that?

Didn't see that.. Is it to do with Channel 9 taking Top Gear over?

Anyone else see the stark, ironic contrast between having Top Gear on channel 9, along with A Current Affair

Spotted the weird stuff during the credits also noted next week myth busters is on in that time slot (RIP top gear). IMO its a shame to see the show go to 9 as it will be killed with add breaks the beauty of sbs is you dont get many adds and the show is fairly continuous 9 will be cutting every 5 mins for a KFC or supa sheep add.

I did see that. Did not click at first, but then realised that it must be the last show on SBS. Thought it was ok having a little dig. Will reserve judgement how I feel about it going to channel 9, until I see it.

Anyone know when it is starting on 9???

Hopefully when hell freezes over..

But i've seen some ad's on Channel 9 for Top Gear - They've even got the TG Team advertising. I've seen clips of JC saying "Only on Channel 9!" blah blah blah.. It's terrible!

I just can't see how channel 9 can do it justice, particularly when they'll cut the show from its original format to a 40 minute show with 20 minutes of ads.
We don't even get the news anymore, which is one of the best segments on Top Gear.
Channel 9 should really put it on Go, and have the show go for its original time then add the advertisements; say 1 hour and 20 minutes. Run a couple of looney tunes cartoons at the end to fill the time slot of 1 hour and a half.

But no, they'll cut the hell out of it with ads (because they paid a lot for it, need to recoup their investment) and the viewer will miss out on some of the most classic parts of a brilliant show.

I find it more convenient to obtain episodes from the internet and watch them, usually can watch them within a day or two of them being aired in the UK. No ads, full show, and the convenience of watching it when you've got a free moment.

Im with LTD and FEV.

Channel 9 will cut the show down then put it back to 9 or 10 o'clock when the novlety wears off with the plebs who want "reality" tv shows back,

not to mention they will do their old trick of cutting it altogether in favour of the tennis or cricket ect, and not show the episode the next time round. :(

yeah on a whole it really is quite bad news and not the best of situations.
but still Top Gear on 9 is better than Fifth Gear on 7!

This isn't the Aus version of Top Gear we're talking about. It's the UK Version which has been moved to channel 9 :(

Don't care about adds, Tivo tapes it and I start watching it 20 minutes later and just fast forward :P .. 9 has better digital reception where I am so it's all for the better imo.

Problem is, it's an hour show without ads. To make way for ads, some content gets cut so they can fit 20 minutes of ads in with a 40 minute show to take up the hour time slot.

I've been doing that for the past 5 seasons.
I never watch it on TV to compare episodes to see what they,ve cut out.

I've already got the full season 14 and seen it all.

I think it blows that Channel 9 shall be broadcasting TG.
Every five minutes we shall be inundated with crappy commercials about nothing.
I think I'll just buy the boxed sets afterwards.

Channel 9 can eat my shorts.
Sgt Doofey re: cutting the show...yep...they do that. A reason why I will wait for boxed sets to be released...so I can watch the ENTIRE episode(s) UNINTERRUPTED.

Finalgear FTW.

I'm in the process of downloading every episode from series 1 on. Have the first 4 seasons now, plus 10 - 14.

Makes no difference what channel it's on when you can watch new episodes as soon as they come out instead of waiting months.

Can you actually buy box sets of the full 1 hour, un-edited top gear episodes?

Every time I look in the stores, the only Top Gear DVDs I see are the ones with a bunch of segments taken from a heap of different episodes, or the special DVDs, such as the polar special etc.

You lot do realise that the show was trimmed on SBS as well?

Or have I been the only one paying attention?

Never watched it on SBS, but didn't they trim the news...?

'I went onto the Internet and I found this...'

It's regularly one of the best parts of the show!
