Dan Andrews spinal injuries were severe, fractured T7 vertebrae and 5 or 6 broken ribs?..not only is the pain bad but the last thing ya want is stress from outside, a work injury as bad as his would have you off work for maybe 2 or 3 years.
More stress less heal time, if he couldn't do his job before his injury then the chances of performing his duties afterward would be at least 60% less!
Not just physical but the mental stress would be debilitating, he should be left alone to heal, wether you like or dislike the man he needs a long time to heal.

Cheers Billy.

And in breaking news it appears they have traced the Delta strain leak from a Victorian quarantine site, not interstate as they had tried to infer, egg on face yet again.

Ruby Princess coronavirus inquiry slams 'inexcusable' mistakes made by NSW Health

And was anyone ever held accountable? Seems like every time these inquiries happen no one ever loses their job. Public servants and government employees are untouchable.

No wonder screw ups happen all the time. Why would you care when you will never face repercussions?

Let's wait for Tickford to come back and tell us that it's impossible for victorian quarantine to make mistakes, because it's gold standard, and how it must be NSW or SA's fault

Every Australian worker is entitled to compensation and medical treatment, no matter how high up the ladder or how low!
Its a "right" not a privilege, a very hard fought fight for basic rights for every Australian citizen or permanent resident.

His injuries would of been covered privately not through Medicare, he is entitled to pay whilst off work and a right to privacy, that's the law, like it or not!

Cheers Billy.

What are you on about, no one is disputing he has the "right" for human rights..holy OTT.

What is suspect is the situation is happened, he could easily do a video call now and then etc...you dont see anything odd in how it all went down?

They say conspiracy theories often have a 10% truth. But it appears not so this time around. Seriously, if the opposition can't make any headway after all these lock downs, and have to resort to conspiracy theories, there is a massive problem. Personally I would prefer to see two strong parties holding each other accountable.

Ambulance Victoria release statement on Premier Daniel Andrews’ fall after ‘cover-up’ comments

"“Ambulance Victoria received a triple zero call for an ambulance at 6.36am on Monday March 9 for a patient who had fall on steps at a house in Sorrento,” it read.

“Based on information provided during the call, the case did not require and immediate lights and sirens (life-threatening emergency response) and the call underwent secondary triage.

“The triage determined that the case was appropriate for ambulance response, and as ambulance was dispatched from the nearest ambulance branch in Sorrento under normal road conditions at 6.47am. The ambulance arrived at 7.01am.

“The patient was assessed by treating paramedics as having suspected fractured ribs and pain relief was provided.

“The patient requested to attend a local hospital in order for the attending crew to remain within the area once cleared from the case.”"

Yes, the usual gutless muck-throwing.

I can accept vanity as a solid reason for Premier Andrews not appearing in the public eye. When my mate was having chemotherapy, he pretty much hid from everyone possible because he didn’t want to be seen as “sick”. It was a big pivot from someone who was on top of video calls and multiple site visits daily.

Oh it can be traceable alright. But depending on jurisdiction it can be a lot of effort. This one is registered to US, Arizona . Even if the owner claims they didn't publish the actual article, they provided the platform, and have some accountability. Sorry, back to Covid.

Yeah that is some pretty wild stuff being claimed, and very specific. Open and shut case for defamation, there is only one defence that would protect you.

Anyone publishing untrue stuff like that needs to be taken to the cleaners.

The only valid defence in this instance is that the accusations are believed to be 'substantially' true as none of the other six defences allowed under the UDL would apply.

The legally murky bit is the 'believed to be' but the standards applied to journalists and other public commentators are more rigorous than they might be for you and I, particularly in terms of the requirement to have pursued reasonably comprehensive checking of the facts before publication.

We've been threatened a few times with actions for defamation over comments made by members in relation to goods and services but when such threats are made we confirm with the OP that the facts are correct and can be backed by documentary evidence and that is probably more checking than we are required to do.

Agreed, its still suss though and the Ambo story is applicable whether he slipped or otherwise.

Back to covid, I am on day 12 and it is horrible, so I feel for the Vics after all the **** taking. Got another test just to be sure and will be free from Friday.

WA expands vaccine rollout to over-30s

Quote:
Western Australians aged 30 to 49 will be able to get a COVID-19 vaccination from Thursday, according to WA Premier Mark McGowan, as the state looks to speed up its vaccine rollout.

Premier McGowan said bookings would open today, with vaccinations to start on Thursday.

30-49 year-olds will receive the Pfizer vaccine, while WA residents aged over 50 will be given the AstraZeneca shot, said McGowan.

WA health minister Roger Cook said the state currently has access to 45,500 AstraZeneca vaccines and 107,000 Pfizer vaccines.

He expects 1.2 million more doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca to be delivered to the state over the next eight weeks.

If you follow past events, without the political blinkers on, the logic to lifting lock down has been pretty consistent. If we get another handful of cases that have known links tomorrow and Thursday, lock down will be lifted 11:59 on Thursday, but many covid safe restrictions to remain i.e. tight gathering rules, masks inside and out, no metro to regional travel etc.

Finally got my appointment, but its a month away, and at the recently reported hotspot Gonna try to shift it to a better location if I can, Sandown would be preferred, heck I'd even go to Franga if there were doses available.

Never heard of her so I had to look at pre covid info. Previous career in finance. Won her seat by 15 votes.
Seems normal, out for blood to save themselves...

Could save the embarrassment. I don't think Dan is going for re-election* - he's done. If he does embarrass himself by running then the opposition should go all out. But them trying it on now is just fail.
*I think that's why he's talking extended leave, to set up his successor, but whoopsie, new outbreak. Whoopsie 2 different outbreaks. Point is Dan already fell on his sword and was probably intending a successful handover of a covid free Vic to the acting prem to ensure a labor win next state election.
