Default key fob

Hey guys. I have replaced the battery in the key fob of my 06 WQ fez and of course now it doesnt work! Do I reset it? How? I have tried II to I 4 times 3s, II to 0, nothing. AAArgh. Also does the positive face upwards. Thanks.
I went from a 05 comm wagon to the fez. 550 to 600k 45l from 450 to 480k with 75l. Does me, and 100 times more fun to drive.

I have replaced my battery before without having to retrain the key fob. perhaps try flipping the battery over from memory the flat side of the batter faces up towards the back of the fob. and to retrain go from 0 to II quickly several times it should beep to let you know its in training mode

Thanks Kariharnett, will try again tomorrow. I was definitely not getting a beep. I was going from 0 to II, then II to 0 4 times. AAArgh. I probably took too long to put new battery in hence blanking it. Opening the fob the plus is facing me, it seems easier going in this way. Do you believe it, the moment I pulled the old battery out I forget which way it was in. All that schooling for nought. LOL.

Mate I have a used replacement if you want it for few dollars from my old WQ I had a spare ... One trick dont mix two keys and two key fobs once they are programed and as each key has it own code to the fob. My fob would have to be programed to your key

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I mean YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I have just discovered that I had the wrong battery. The one I bought is a DL 2032, WRONG. It should be a CR 2032. Both the same size and both 3 volt. Off to the shops tomorrow.
