Default Catalytic converter

I just put a series 1 bf cat system on my bf XR6 which had a cat and a small muffler on it all in one to begin with. Is it ok to replace a cat on it with no small muffler?

Thanks guys?

The BF system is as you describe, the BA factory cat pipe doesn't have the resonator although it doesn't have a Euro 3 cat either. It will fit and it won't be as bad as most aftermarket cats but I'd imagine if you ever run into any trouble and the car gets tested it will fail emissions. It's possible for an old BF cat to fail as well however.

He's more concerned about the emissions rather than the noise I gather. He's replaced it with a stock system.

Yeah, but I don't think emissions other than noise would be affected by a muffler removal ....(?)

Noise has deffinately increased. I was worried about whether it would affect the car. Engine light has gone off which is a good sign!

Dont know about emissions though.

Thanks guys

Just don't attract attention to yourself, thats my plan.

Factory looking EL Fairmont Ghia, been lifted to standard Falcon height, 15" standard alloys, car looks plain on the outside.

Under the hood I've got ported and polished head, stiffer valve springs, cam, bigger exhaust valves, pacemaker 4499s, 200 cell stainless high flow cat and a pex 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with 2 mufflers and a resonator.

Extractors are going to be covered up with an AU Falcon heat shield, so if you pop the bonnet, you wouldn't even see anything out of the ordinary.
