Talking Bowdens Meet and Greet

G'day All,

Just a reminder that this Sunday is the cruise to Ettamogah Pub for lunch with Chris and Dan Bowden. This is the ground work we need to do before we are invited to view their collection of cars next month. All of the details are in the Events Calender but remember that when we do visit the collection next month that numbers will be limited and priority will be given to those attend this Sunday.

Cheers,

Ken

We've been a member of the XR6 & XR8 Club of QLD for quite a few years now and this will be our very first proper Club Cruise. Looking forward to it :eclipsee_ .

That's hard to believe Mel. All the things you have attended must have been "meet there" activities. Well it will be great to have you along for the drive. See you on Sunday.

Lucky Buggers

I was privileged to have a personal tour of 2 of his sheds, took that many shots that went through 3 sets of batteries and 2 gigs of images in 4 hours

TK, can you pass on a Hello from me please

Cheers

Will do Champ. I have seen only a few of their cars at different events over the years, Speed on Tweed, Ford v Holden shows and the like, so I am looking forward to seeing the lot. A visit not to miss. I have met the Bowden boys at said events and they are great blokes to boot. Should be a corker.

Funny you mention Speed on Tweed, I do some of the crash clean up and resuce for that event (as I live 15 mins from mur-bah) and I heard that there is a Bathurst theme this year!

I wish I could make it sunday but work always seem to spoil the party :(

Do you think my car is old enough to enter Speed on Tweed? : :

Well, 43 of Henry's finest convoyed up the coast today to meet Dan and Chris Bowden. :eclipsee_ :thebirds: Dan and Chris were very informative and two very nice blokes as well. :sm_headba Good to see their business has grown from their passsion from preserving some of Australia's most important motor racing history. :the_finge Great to meet you both Dan and Chris. Thanks for coming and sharing your time with our awesome club. : Everyone wanted a spin in that awesome AC Cobra. : : The two million dollar baby. If that is just a taste of what we will see in June, we will be there with bells on. The cameras will be getting a real workout that day. Wear your sunglasses boys and girls. There will be plenty of flashes going around that day. : : : Can hardly wait. Bring it on!!! :

Cheers

G'day All,

Well what a weekend it has been, with the Dyno Day yesterday and the Meet the Bowden Boys today. Chris and Dan are characters there is no denying that. The tour day should be a hoot.

Thanks to Leanne W for all her hard work setting this up in the first place and it's not over yet. Thanks to Chris and Dan for meeting with us and not only explaining about what we will see when we visit them in a few weeks time but also for showing us their car care products. They could sell ice to the Eskimos I reckon. Finally I want to thank all the Clubbies that turned up to put on a show for the boys, your names will be first on the list for the visit (by the look of the numbers today they may very well be the only names on the list).

Cheers,

Ken xxx

Top day out!
Always a pleasure to flick the lights on and get in line with my Fellow Falcon Faithful.

I think the Bowden boys have converted a loooong time Meguires fan. I even swung by AutoBarn on the way home to have another look.

Look forward to our next outing.
Cheers all!

Would have loved to get up there for the meet, but the boy was very sick over the weekend.

I had the privelege of going through their 'Museum' last year, abosultely amazing and both Chris and Dan can talk and talk and the amount of info they have on the cars is amazing.

Here is one of the cars I saw last year (I've still to go through the photos, just been too slack). Yes it's a Holden, but I loved the Toranas! The car to the right is pretty damn nice too.

Hello, Had a great day on sunday , got home at 8.30pm to bundaberg.
There was a semi-trailer accident at gunalda range and resulting acid spill caused us to be diverted through theebine . What a goat track. We should do it again in daylight.
Made it home ok. regards mally
