Red face Re: Car Detailing - What products are your go to?

Seems that the Natty's coloured waxes have dyes, so there's a chance it will tint white, so rules that one out.

I was going to say there is a white tinted Natty's but it looks to be sold out.

I don't think you will be unhappy with anything Collinite. Although it's very important to apply 915 as thinly as possible.

Don't rule out Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, although not a wax, it's exceptional for ease of application.

https://www.waxit.com.au/collections...-sealant-473ml

"Any color is enhanced by Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 replicates the best qualities of carnauba wax; slickness and shine; but it has more than double the longevity of the average carnauba wax."

Looks good. What's the lifespan of the Wolfgang? I've had the Collinite 476 still showing hydrophobia after a year.

Been tossing up Soft 99 Fusso as well. I understand it's not quite as glossy as some of the other choices, but seems to even outlast the Collinite 476.

You should get 4 - 6 months out of DGPS. If you are topping it as you have hinted earlier, 6+ should be doable. I get 12+ on the garage queens.

It seemed to do well in this test. Lost to the 476 on durability, but beat the 915, and similar to the 845.

https://www.autopia.org/forums/waxes...ants-test.html

So many choices, but I don't think I can lose whichever way I go.

I still have a bit of 476 left, so that might be going on the wife's car if whatever I choose looks better on mine.

After almost 30yrs of basic bucket and sponge/mit washing i too have been shown the light of foam cannon pre soaking.
Inlaws bought some of those danoz direct tv special 2 for 1 deals and gave me one.
Was about as useful as tits on a bull but it gave me the bug so i went pressure washer shopping and picked up a Gerni car care kit with cannon, adjustable nozzles, chassis fitting and a few others.

Have only tried it with some cheapie product, Armour All ceramic foam but i like it so i'll soon be ordering some quality gear.

Not sure what the gerni cannon is like but they are generally not as good as those made by specialist car wash companies.

I have the bowdens own one, which is pretty good. The bowdens own snow job I have found foams up well but doesn't actually do much unless your car is barely dirty I recently bought some NV snow from waxit and that performed much better. The car was obviously cleaner after just the snow foam soak. If your car was only dusty or mildly dirty it would do as a one step wash.

Welcome to the most expensive thread on the forum

Having said all that, I have noticed the neck of my bowdens snow cannon bottle is all but snapped off. I've never dropped it so not sure if I over tightened it one time. Very annoying as not sure I can buy the bottle separately.

I have just spent $115 at Detailing Shed!

The main reason for the order was to get some Gyeon Q2 Quickview.
https://detailingshed.com.au/collect...n-q2-quickview

Along with a couple of other things, I added a MTM Foam Cannon service repair kit.
https://detailingshed.com.au/collect...non-repair-kit

I'm waiting for the Obsessed Garage sale to launch as there a few items I want to trial. They offer 10% discounts and free shipping, sadly that doesn't include international shipping.

Haha, yep, hooked.
Been watching a bloke down the road use the same outfit on his 2 i30's and WH Stato and ive been impressed with his results.
Turns out he's a driver where my Daughter works so she's going to introduce me to him for some insight into what product he uses.

This what you after prydey ?
https://www.bowdensown.com.au/bowdens-own-cannon-bottle

I have the large Gerni 3600, works great BUT at the time I didn't buy their snow/cannon bottle for I have the Bowden one.
prydey interesting your take on Bowdens snow to NV.
Even though NV products are more my pref today I found the Bowden snow very foamy, maybe you haven't adjusted your nosel right for the thick foam release ???

Thanks for the link.

Bowdens snow foams up great. No problem there. It's just after rinsing there is very little difference. NV used in the same conditions actually had a noticeable effect after rinsing.

This will vary for everyone depending on how dirty your cars are. If mainly just dust or very lightly soiled then bowdens would probably work ok.

I also have the Gernie Super Foam Sprayer which I purchased a while ago now before all of the other options became available.
It is definitely better than the standard one they supply in some of the Gernie Kits.
I use Meguiars Gold Class in it and find it OK but I have nothing to compare it too having not used anything else. It is possibly smaller in volume so will only do 1 car.

Black Friday Sale, order number 1 -

The Gyeon Quick View is a glass coating with 6 month longevity.
https://detailingshed.com.au/product...ad5bd45f&_ss=r

I'm not a person who likes to take things to chance, so I decided to add a service kit for my MTM foam cannon to my order.
https://detailingshed.com.au/product...8d30afd7&_ss=r

I also like the idea of these detailing swabs from Maxshine, good for intricate grill patterns.
https://detailingshed.com.au/product...6eca609f&_ss=r

And yes, I did say order number one, I have two more on the way from Waxit and Obsessed Garage. Strike while the irons hot as they say!

I have a shopping cart at waxit with about $80 worth of stuff but unfortunately I'm going to have to pass on it. Bought a few hundred dollars worth of new cycling kit... Priorities are slightly different to some but I do cycle a lot and had to take advantage of the sales.

The game of life. A big juggling act for many.

I guess it would, and microfiber applicators for that matter also.

Also worth noting the Pad Washer doesn't include the DirtLock insert which needs to be purchased separately.

Here's a little tip for those emergency spot clean ups when you are out and about.

I keep two wet clean microfibre clothes in a sealed plastic jar to keep them moist and wet, in the boot.

Makes cleaning up bird droppings and tree sap on your paintwork easy when on the road.
(Always best to clean these acidic droppings while fresh as soon as possible, before they bake on under the hot sun and cause possible clear coat damage).

If you want, you can saturate the clothes in one of those "water-less" wash solutions, or soapy water, instead of water if you prefer.

Always at the ready... Quick and easy.

Black Friday Sale, order number 3 -

Saving the best to last, my order from Obsessed Garage arrived today. It took 13 days to travel from Florida to Victoria, less than some local suppliers at the mercy of Australia Post.

Obsessed Garage only have one main sale a year, so I took the plunge on some stuff I could not get locally.

More here - https://www.fordforums.com.au/showth...=1#post6658464
