Default BF xr6 vs AU futura

A good friend at work is always going on about how quick he's new BF xr6 goes and how much better they look then the au's and so on.
So after a heated conversation in regards to performance of various models through out the falcon's over the years and why would i be interested in doing up an au falcon when i should just buy a better model like the BF as it would cream any au xr6's outthere.. :
Well there's only one way to tell and you put money wear your mouth is!!!!!!
In the end we agreed $50.00 that my au futura (not even xr6) would beat his BF xr6 to 100kph from standing start???
Well just so happened he went home unable to sleep and $50.00 less in his wallet.
I actually cant believe that i beat him by 1 1/2 car lengths and still pulling untill i backed off at 100kph :

Just prove's who said they intech 6's can't go !!!

But if you look the AU had a modified air inatake, 2.5" exhaust and extractors.

Put this against a stock auto BA XR6, plus anything else like wheel size and it is easily done.

: Well to be totally honest i didnt think i would have beat him by that much,Well dont know if it was magic or the well tuned exhaust system and cai that is on the car but other then that the car is stock!!!
No ecu or cam in it,But beating him by 1 1/2 car lengths is alot only up till 100kph...
I was estatic by the performance from the car and i think he was too he couldnt believe that he got smashed after he just finished telling me a few hours earlier how he beats ss commo's.

Well also considering if a futura can do this with the right combo.. what would a au xr6 do to these N/B BA/BF xr6's.....
I believe for the same money you would put into a ba/bf 6 wouldnt get you any quicker then doing the same to an au 6.
I am happy to own my au and i wanted to prove it to these ba/bf owners !!!

That's quite a bit 1 & 1/2 cars up to 100km as assuming the guy in the BF ZF6 speed know's what he is doing he should be around 7.2 or 7.3 to 100kmp/h at most.

One and a half car lengths is heaps! That would equate to a few tenths over a 1/4 mile. I thought the 6spd auto BF XRs would be quick. That must be one healthy AU you've got there.

Mate, It may not prove much as all cars are diffrent even from factory and yes the tell tail maybe down the qtr mile!!!
But the fact is that not all is lost for the old single OHC six thats all we are trying to state !!!!
I'd be offended too if i bought 30+k BF xr6 to get squashed by an older OHC six ..

But it does happen

im not sure what gear ratios they run in the zfs, but one advantage to having a very long first gear in an au is that from 1-100 it only has to change gear once, as the autos can do 70+ in first

the zf has very short ratios but runs silly diff gears like 2.7's or something check the ford.com.au site they got details there.

Know it all : there are so many variations to this equation but i dont see why an AU with a few selected mods couldnt keep up with a BF 6sp
