Well, I've just had the Mountune fitted to my Fiesta today.
It cost me £600, including fitting, a bit pricy for what it is, as there are loads of company's tuning these up over here now for less cash with better numbers, but Mountune are the only company that let's you retain your Ford warranty.

I've only had about an hour behind the wheel, mostly motorway driving on the way home, but there is a significant improvement in the amount of torque available and it does sound a lot better at large throttle inputs, but still refined when cruising.

Finsport are a company local to me who have been getting pretty good reviews for their tunes. They are also doing a full cat back exhaust for it, which sounds interesting so I think I may be looking at that next.

So anybody got any updates on the whole Mountune - Ford Aus warranty progress?
Or has everybody just got pee-d off waiting for an update and gone down the Bluefin road.

You would imagine that inside Ford Oz would be a complete shambles right now.
Winding down manufacturing, massive job losses in the factory and management. I could not imagine that talks with a tuning company on a low volume import would really be attracting their attention.

So I joined up to the Mountune Forum yesterday and questioned if it will be available here under warranty, this was the response:

Quote:
We are working with Ford of Australia to gain warranty approval, but as yet this isn't in place.
Since seeing Pursya's post I have now posed the question as to whether Ford Aus' s pending closure is causing delays with the process.

Got this update from Mountune the other day after questioning availability and compatibility with Aus climate and fuel:

"There will be no issues with the MP215 in Australia - we sign off against the base car sign off, so if something is good in x temperature on x fuel, ours has to be as well. What you may find is the car will derate without an intercooler also installed, but the standard car would also, so the delta gain is still the same.

In terms of mountune in Australia, here's the official line:

Ford is currently exploring opportunities to bring Mountune products to Australia through its Dealer network. There is a great deal of back office work required to offer Mountune’s range of products to the Australian market, which includes meeting legal and legislative requirements specific to Australia. The good news is, Ford has gone through a number of gateways to date. The next stage is physical ADR testing and assessment, which can’t be based on information from other markets. Should ADR testing be successful, Ford hopes to make an official announcement towards the end of 2014 on the availability of Mountune products in Australia."
Kinda sick of waiting and as soon as I have enough money saved up, I'm pulling the trigger!

Good news if it gets factory backing sometime later this year. I'll be putting my tax refund aside and holding on. I'd like to keep the warranty, so the mods will have to wait until then.

Quick stupid question, does the MP215 kit produce 215 PS all the time, or is it only on 20 second overboost, like the 147kw quoted for the standard ST?

A decent reply there. Thanks Dreadly. Once I'm 2 years thru my warranty I'll probably pull the trigger anyway.

Will let you know in about a month when I order it!
I'm expecting somewhere in the region of $1400 inc shipping and customs fees.
Landed the FMIC, floor mats and leather gear gaiter for $991 last week.

Next will be charge, IC, induction piping and quick shift.
I plan on doing all of the installation myself with a little help from a friend.
Check out my build thread on the fiestast.org forum, in the builds section!

When you said "Thread" I had presumed you meant on a forum somewhere. I've already got those PDFs for the IC and QS downloaded and waiting to go on my phone!

My bad, that's all you need, I didn't know about the downloads, was lookin for something on YouTube as the fmic kit didn't come with instructions like the short shifter kit :-) and found the link to the install downloads
