Any motor bike shop will have what you need.

My current helmet was a motor bike helmet and they complained about it so was unsure if their are proper helmets for just the drags if I can just use a motorbike one I'll just go to a bike shop

Good advice.

If it doesn't meet the Standard, you will have a quiet night.

I used to use an open face helmet for all my racing (sprints, hillclimbs and drags) which I'd bought from a motorbike shop. It met the standard, so all was fine.

Find out the required specs you need before you buy.
Some motorsport also have date limits [ use-by date ] for helmets. You could buy a helmet that has been on the shelf for two years, and loose two years of use for it.

blue ute, this is the helmet I brought. Using it for drags, hillclimbs and super sprints to start with.

http://www.gogear.com.au/products/he...-helmet-ff-s4/

I found the guys at gogear very helpful. I went to revolution race gear awhile ago just to have a look and was a complete waste of my time. Didnt have my size, I asked them to order one in, they said yep no worries. Rang them for three weeks straight and each time they said it hasnt arrived from our store north of the river yet and we'll call you when it comes in. never got a call.

I guess it really depends how much your going to use it for how much your going to spend.

You are right, not all bike helmets are accepted. How much did you want to spend? Do you want to use it just for drags or other motorsports? I'd very much recommend open face, too hot otherwise. We sell Stilos they are order in but will take a couple of weeks (www.mcraemotorsport.com.au) If your in a hurry try the guys at revolution racegear (www.revolutionracegear.com.au), they have a bigger range.
