Default Important! Eurofordclub.com is changing

I noticed when I logged on to our Eurofordclub.com site, the Home Page has some strange things going on. Mentioned it was "hacked" by H4ck3r1n4.

Should I be worried?

Umm, i think Tim should have a look at that. Obviously some stupid teenager bored at home has decided to take down the front page using some basic hacking skills. TIm, i suggest you change the server password and maybe change the file permissions where the site is hosted so that ppl can't go and change files without the proper authority. I'm assuming you have server access to where the site is hosted :S

Thanks for the heads-up. Phpnuke is pretty hopeless, I'm really debating the future of the site. I just don't have the time to spend on it anymore with my new job, so unless someone is willing to step up to the task, I'm not sure where it's going to go. One option is to just make the forums the only part of the site with the gallery linked, and ditch the rest. Probably not a bad idea.

Ok, I changed the forum to the homepage and it got hacked too, so I have removed the homepage directing to any part of the site. I am ceasing operation of the whole website very soon so if you have photos or files you want from the site, get them now, as it's all being removed.

If anyone wants to take over the club or any part of it, then let me know, otherwise as of the end of the year the club site and all its parts will be removed. Sorry but I just don't have the time anymore.

I can no longer access the forum admin page so the whole lot is being destroyed very soon if we can't recover it.

Can you back up all the photos to a DVD mate?

This is sad news but I appreciate all the immense hard work you've put in. You've gone well beyond the call. the club has come a long way to the extent that now the 2 founders have upsized form Eurofords into XR Falcons!! Rest assured we're both life long obsessed with Eurofords though. There'll be an ST170 and a MkII RS2000 in my garage within 10 years.

It was a pain in the to have 2 forums so I vote for keeping the Eurofordclub forum here anyway, we have a much larger audience that way too.

Hi All,

Will make a more detailed post shortly, however I will be looking after the website from now on. Currently in the process of trying to save any info we can from the forums, however they wont be going back up as these forums will be used into the future.

A new website will be up later tonight hopefully with more details.

Regards

Yeah I am not in a BA because I want to be at the moment, I'd have a turbo diesel Mondeo in a heartbeat but I just can't afford that at the moment, nor the time and money I am having to put into the site.

Efforts are being made to ensure the club continues, and I'll hand over my share of the leadership to others once we have sorted it out.

Regards, Timmeh

Well as I host EFC and the forums, I have just come home and found out about all of this

For now the eurofordclub.com/forum has been removed, so there is nothing there now.

Once Tim has removed all pics etc from the site, it will most likely be removed from my hosting space...

If there are any issues with pics etc that you want, please let me know as well, as I have the most direct access to everything on the EFC site.

Chris

I would also suggest that just to be on the safe side, anyone that has been to the site since this heinous crime, go and update their antivirus software and do a full scan of your PC, never know what could come through atm to you.

LOL well a spam filter that blocks legit email if you send an identical emails too many times...

A friend had outlook problem (.pst 2gigs) and a message to a hotmail address wasn't moved from outbox to sent, so it kept sending it every send recieve Outlook did, IP was blacklisted on some international spam list.

New website online at the temp address http://eurofordclub.onix5.com/ with the new gallery at http://eurofordclub.onix5.com/gallery/, all previous albums have been imported. Once the domain is updated the address will be back to eurofordclub.com but for now there is currently a redirect.

More to come on the website shortly and if you have anything you'd like to see there let me know ;)

Thanks Chris D, appreciate the effort and hopefully the domain people will get back to us soon.

I want to publicly thank a different Chris (Fordel) for his efforts over the years as IT support for us, it's been a thankless job for him often doing behind the scenes help. So a big thanks Chris, it's been appreciated mate.

Nice job on the site Chris D, looks good, glad to see you got all the albums across as well.

Thanks Tim, has been my pleasure to help out with everything I have been able to help out with for the club.
