Default Capri v6 battery specs?

Hi guys

I'm a bit lost in the world of batteries and I need some advice. I bought a nice new starter motor from the local auto electrician and he said I need a battery with about 500cca power. I have to cram this battery into a tight space in the boot so I found one which is 490. Do you think this would be OK?

My alternative if I need more is to link two smaller batteries to get enough cca. But this is more than twice the cost due to the extra hardware.

I am planning to run a few extra electrical things in this car but nothing crazy. A decent stereo (no silly subwoofer or anything) and some power accessories. Power windows are likely.

Thoughts?

Ford capri 3.0 petrol 1974-1988
12V 60Ah Car Battery is standard for a capri V6

not sure about centurys or ford craft CCA
AC delco have a 430 CCA should fit in the engine bay

no... to using two batteries bridged together

you can bolt in a larger amp output ford alternator
if required swap the alternator multi pulley back to the single V pully

yes you can buy a battery boot relocation kit for the capi V6

if you want to run big sounds more doof doof and electrics might be a good idea

Well the challenge I have is that I can't fit a big battery in the space I am using. The guy at battery world said I could bridge two identical batteries and double the CCA rating automatically.

This would allow me to get about 660cca instead of 490cca with a single battery but it would cost twice the price and if 490cca would be ok for a v6 starter then I will just get a single battery.

Amp hours capacity isn't so much an issue for me because I'm not running many accessories and the stereo will be modest.
