Default Pictures in Signature Question

I tried to put images in my signature from a host and it only displays the link to the image not the image itself, is this my error somehow or does this site not yet support this feature ?

Ray.

Hi Ray
The actual capability to externally link is actually blocked at the moment deliberately - this has been put in place to protect the gallery and most of the (normally hidden) forums from unregistered users. Just copy the image to the gallery and link it from there.

Cheers
Russ

what is actually stopping images in signatures is that html and img code is switched off for use in signatures, meaning that they cannot be used to dsiplay images.

I actually prefer that, don't have people getting carried away with pics in sigs causing slow page loads, they slow things fairly significantly on my current 31k dialup :(

I'll put it as simply as I can... Remember I'm speaking as an Administrator & Forum Director...

PICTURES IN SIGNATURES ARE SHIT & ANYONE WHO USES THEM SHOULD BE SHOT ON SIGHT!

Hope that clarifies my view on things...

You know what's funny though? The three people who have complained about pics in signatures causing slow page loading etc.. have THE THREE BIGGEST AVATAR SIZES!! In order, 109.28 KB (111903 bytes), 83.27 KB (85271 bytes) and wait for it, 187.17 KB (191659 bytes).

Oh NO!... just realised, they're all Mod's. : I think I'm gonna be : online.

He he.. seriously though, I think a 30.0 KB limit for pic's in sig's is not that bad, is it guys? I do agree that on the other site people did get carried away with huge pic's in their sig's, but the function of sig's only appearing once per page was a very very good feature. Can we implement this feature on this site aswell Admin's? Would be absolutely fantastic.

Oh, and to the members who don't like other members using pic's in their sig's, you can disable sig's, and even all avatars in your user CP from being displayed under edit options, if page load up speed is an issue.

Keep up the good work guys!! This site is getting better and better. So good to be on a forum that takes everyone's opinion into consideraton at least. Well done. :

He he.. nice change. I just got told by a 6 year old that your avatar is "All wrong! Bob(?) does not look like that, and Dash(?) looks funny!" I have not seen The Incredibles (yet) so no idea what he's on about.
