Default Bad idea?

one of my mates who owns a s1 falcon recently unbolted the rear of his exhaust and took it off from where its joined before the rear muffler, i was wondering if that would be a bad idea to do on a fairmont ghia with independant rear suspension seeing as where the exhaust is joined it sorta points on a diagonal out the back of the car, would it have any negative impact?

i was just curious seeing as it didn't sound so bad and was free and easily put back on

I think he only wants to do it for the noise...
Just get an exhaust joint to delete the rear muffler mate.
probably only set ya back 30-50 bucks...
that way it all mounts up properly and finishes where it should..

I have to second DJM83 here, as I have personally done this to the exact same car... and its utter rubbish!

Drove round the block and apart from sounding like a truck, it smelt horrible.

Got a 2.5" cat back exhaust from Rob Bliss at Geebung and haven't looked back, Mr Hardware can vouch for how good it sounds
