Post AUII Fairmont Trip Computer Screen Problem

Hi guys,

My AuII Fairmont has a problem with the screen. Two of the 'lines' of the numbers on the display don't work. I'm assuming I have to buy another screen, how much am I looking at and where's the best place to get one? I dont mind second hand. Also, how difficult is it to change over?

Cheers.

I think it was these people: http://liquidxtal.com/ that used to get recommended to everyone when this happened.

Yep, Autotronic at http://liquidxtal.com/ will be the best guys for the job.

Friendly and prompt. Just had my T1 TS50 climate control screen repaired by them. The repair form is downloadable from their website, just remove the unit, package it up, send some $$ and get it repaired by them.

Awesome, thanks I'll give them a shot. How hard would it be for someone with not much experience but a good understanding of mechanical things to remove (without ruining the unit or the wood grain)?

first, remove the black plastic surround around the clock..
behind this surround is a phillips head screw.. undo that..

slowly pull the climate control unit from the left hand side out, but not all the way, just out on an angle there is a few plugs behind it to undo so don't pull it out too quick..

undo the plugs at the back of the unit and remove completely..

hope that helps!!

you'll end up with this:
