Default Car care kits - gauging interest

I am considering making up some car washing and detailing kits for fellow ford forums members and would like to know if anyone is interested

These are what would be in the kits (from basic washing to full detailing)

Aquatouch tricot weave double sided drying towel x 2
Aquatouch ultra microfibre glass cloth (just use water as cleaner)
Aquatouch ultra microfibre wash mitt (also can be used with mequiars quick detailer and final inspection or other QD)

Klasse AIO and SG acrylic paint protection
Clay magic original formula clay bars (for paint decontamination)
P21s finish restorer (restores faded plastic, removes scratches on paint, great metal polish)
oxidation remover for any surface and paint hand glaze which removes scratches and adds depth and wetness to paint)

Will be many other brands later on in the year and next as well

Clearkote vanilla moose is on the way from the states right now and price per bottle is $15 dollars
However when using on rubbers, exterior trim etc, you only need a smidgen and will last for ages.
Can be used on glass as well as paint

Haven't worked out price for each aquatouch yet but the glass cloth will be no more than $9 dollars, wash mitt no more than $14 and two drying towels, $25 dollars all up (not each)
You can wash that and the other aquatouch's up to 300 times and add white vinegar to the wash as a fabric softener to keep them absorbent

P.S. my car care article won't be far away

Definitely keen. Will have to get a look at some of these products the next time the SA guys gather.
You'll no doubt have interest providing,
A- the products either cant be bought off the shelf by anyone.
or
B-products can be bought but you can get them cheaper, including postage than what supercheap sell them.

A is correct. You can't just get them off the shelf
No one else sells clearkote in australia and my price for klasse and other products will be cheaper than anyone else in australia

I've seen this stuff, Matt showed me what it could do at FPV day. I'll be getting a kit or 2 or 3.

It was a pleasure to meet you Matt and to see exactly what your stuff can do. As I told you on the day I was most interested in making my rubbers look new and was very impressed at how you made the scratch on the TL50 practically disappear. And was it the Vanilla Moose you used on Casper's door? Very impressive stuff mate!

I've seen it work so I'm sold. Definately interested in a kit thanks Matt.

I am interested. Being new to detailing, what does the clay do? Is it the same as wax?

Clay is like a mud pack, it cleans the 'skin'.

Clay removes all surface contaminants such as industrial fallout. It makes the paint really slick on previously coated paint and smooth on dead paint which needs prep

For white cars with red dots clearly visible and even rust spots from the metal fallout being rained on, the red clay magic bar will be required
For all other colors, clay magic blue is all that is needed

Hi krissy, remember you and wish I had done more to that TL50
I always try the moose on scratches first as it's the finest grade scratch remover and permanent glaze for paint
That's my process. Try the finest product first and move up on the grit scale until the desired result is achieved. Each car is different
To make that scratch dissappear forever, I should have got out the p21s finish restorer and used after vanilla moose.
Then if there is still some sign of the scratch, get out the poorboys ssr 2 and 1 and that would be the end of it
In most cases, VM will be enough but the scratch above the one I used the moose othe tl50 needed p21s and maybe sonus sfx system or a paint cleanser

Am awaiting a reply email from another supplier in hawaii regarding his 6 inch 70/30 blend applicator pads and the white ultra buffing and qd cloth

To some it might seem a lot of steps but you can't get rid of scratches permanently by sticking other brands of hand glaze and some wax on it

Same here, although I'd probably be better off waiting until my poor little car has been resprayed first, after the attacks and damage caused to the paintwork... :(

Does the mud pack damage any decals or pin striping on the car?

How much is the clay block, and is it available currently from supercheap etc.

Clay bar from me is $40, elsewhere $46 but is not available at supercheap
They sell the meguiars quick clay which I hate cause it's not the original formula unlike magic and sticks to the paint sometimes
For your own car, each bar will last a long time. Usual life is 10 - 16 cars per bar.

Unsure about the decals. Might be an idea to leave the bar away from decals and striping
Will find out about that one

Clearkote do not have a paint sealant in their range and there is nothing in the world that will prevent fallout, they only reduce the amount that sticks and prevent it from penetrating and etching every layer of the paint

Update -

Items to be sold separately

Klasse AIO 500ml $38.80
Klasse SG 500ml $35.00
(these two will last you for ages as you apply two 1 cent sized drops on a pad per panel)
Clay magic blue and red bars $41

A kit for paint repair and protection added will include aquatouch and pakshak applicator pads, ultra buffing towels including the ultra soft pink suede cloths
Hopefully I will be able to get in sonus sfx system and the course/super soft double sided applicator pads for it
Please note - the drying towels are double sided, one side for drying and the other for removing polishes, compounds, cleaners and quick detail sprays

Here is your answer
On decals, start the clay from the middle of the decal and use gently and work to each side
If you start before the decal and go across you could strip off the decal
Pinstriping, use along it, not across

Have been busy tonight reading and sending emails to suppliers and so far all looks good
The basic car care kit consists of

Aquatouch glass cloth, two drying towels (uncut) and wash mitt will be available to buy by mid -late next week
Once I get a confirmation reply from my supplier, I will let you all know the postage cost.
Price for products all up is $48
Retail price $60

Remember these are dual purpose products and will last for ages as long as they are washed regularly and softened with white vinegar
products from all car care kits are also available separately, I don't expect you to buy another kit. Same price as they are in the kit.

Car care kit 2 (quick detailing)

clay magic red or blue bar (whichever you prefer)
wolfgang instant detail spritz
ultra fine microfibre white buffing towel (polish removal or QD)

Car Care kit 3 (plastic, vinyl and rubber care)

clearkote vanilla moose
clearkote chocolate moose
autoglym bodyshop 07B
wolfgang black diamond tire gel
p21s finish restorer

car care kit 4

Ultra plush microfibre towel light blue
ultra microfibre 4 x 6 inch applicator pads
aquatouch ultra mf purple buffing cloth
wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant

UPDATE - sold separately products
I will have 500ml and 1 litre bottles of Klasse AIO cleaner polish sealant and
Sealant glaze (acrylic sealant) available ASAP
Four Star ultimate and pro range will hopefully come out later
Clearkote quik shine gloss enhancing quick detail spray
Detailers pride gel formula wheel cleaner, auto wash and the glass restorer I hope to add later on in the year
