Default Aftermarket tailights....LED or clear?

hey guys,
just a little bit of help with people's opinion on a few of these tailights by european-parts.net

i have been looking at a few and the obvious two that i have to choose from are these:

BLACK LED:
http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...ge.php?pID=615

OR

CLEAR BLACK:
http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...ge.php?pID=500

i also have a bit of a problem with choosing which rear fog lamps to chose from:

CLEAR BLACK:
http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...ge.php?pID=523

OR

CHROME:
http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...roducts_id=284

having a pure silver focus i was thinking that the clear black tailights and foglamps was the way to go, but i love the look of the LED tail lights but theyre too "silvery" to me, as it wouldn't look good up against the silver focus.

opinions please?
even if people could post some pics of their tail light set up to give me an idea that would be good as well!
i might get someone to chop some on for me too!

cheers,
brad

i think it heavily depends on the colour of your car. ie crome looks great on dark coloured cars but not the lighter ones (i found that out the hard way LOL)

but you gotta have all the lights matching so if you go the black taillights then you should get black fog lights and spoiler light as well.

as to led or globe... I opted for the globes believing they look better however it seems all the lv foci are going led and they look pretty good. so i guess its all just a matter of what you like.

here are some pics of mine with the chrome globes.

yea that is what i was thinking.....but i love the look of the leds! but the led tail lights are almost too chrome for me
do those rear black fog lamps even fit?
maybe if i tinted them? of course the legalities would come into action there but it would look better?

I didn't know black fog lamps existed until you pointed it out. (been looking for a matching revese lamp to replace the rear fog lamp myself) so i couldn't if it fits or not. but i have reason to believe it wouldn't.

see if you can find some pics of silver lv foci on the net. that should give you an idea of what the leds look like on a silver car...

Different car I know and different lights, but it may give you some idea with regard to colourings.

I tend to prefer black on a silver car rather than chrome, but the brake light section here is an LED setup

ps the reflector strips on the reverse lights are Nightshaded....and they are exactly the same lights on the LR and the LS/LT

I've got Melbzetec's tail lights he had previously on his Focus and couldn't be happier with them. They're from Auto Art U.K. (right Melbzetec?)

well im definately going to go with the LED's, theyre on order as we speak. should see them in 2-3 weeks haha!
i didnt go with the rear black fog lamps as i am under the suspicion they are the wrong ones ie. LHD and not RHD
are my suspicions correct?
i also bought the XR5T rear spoiler as well

im not 100% that the rear fogs would fit. but i have seen some on ebay that might match.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Focus-Ha...QQcmdZViewItem

not a dead match but should go better than stock fogs.

as for the tail lights....i love the led ones! and i was thinking the exact same thing as you about having a silver car and chrome lights...

cant wait to see how it all looks!

yea i looked at those chrome rear fog lamps but i don't think il go for them simply because they are not black haha
i may have to see them on a silver car before they persuade me.
i cant wait to see my LED's either!

I assume you're actually going to get two rear reversing lights, rather than a rear fog light?

Rear fogs are next to useless, and sometimes a dowright menace, in Oz

Mate get your rear fogs from www.teamtorquesteer.co.uk. They're an awesome bunch of guys over there. They have LHD and RHD available, and their postage is second to none. Take a look.

yea but are they rear fogs AND reverse light or just reverse light? coz im only after two reverse lights EXACTLY like zetec20's focus

btw i found another set of rear tail light LED's for the focus
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-FOCUS-MK-...QQcmdZViewItem

would these fit our LT focus's? i thought we were MKII but it states they fit MKII so i only think of the LV.

if they fit then we have a buyer.

By the looks of them the LT and LV focus' are the same tail lights (shape). I'm sure you might be able to strike up a deal with the guys at teamtorquesteer if you wanted two reverse lights instead. Just fire them an email.

This is what the Black LED's look like. The photos don't really do them justice, but I reckon they look great, especially compared to the rather ordinary factory tails.

Remove the two screws and 'wiggle' the light free (there are two plastic lugs holding them in place), then disconnect the two connectors. Connect the new lights and screw them in - about a 4 -5 minute job.
