Guys,

Driving home Saturday evening, only about 1klm from home and lost power. The car felt like it was running 4-5 cylinders. Limped home and off to the mechanics the following day. So far the mechanic has checked, plugs, leads, coil packs, done a compression test and three cylinders are low on compression, no knocking noises or tapping to suggest internal problems.

It actually felt like when one of my coil packs went.

The mechanic has suggested perhaps the timing chain has jumped causing the motor being out of timing, but reluctantly he does not want to start pulling things apart before a proper diagnosis of the engine seeking a second opinion from his other mechanic friend for a brain storming session. By the way he conduct a code scan as well, all good from the scan.

Any suggestions or has anyone had the same issue with their 220’s. My coil packs are only two years old as well, the original motorcraft packs from Ford. The car has only done 155,000.

Cheers
