I just got my cat back exhaust done in the last couple of months, now I'm thinking of getting some extractors... I can get pacemaker 4499's for $450 fitted, is it worth getting the comps? I spoke to the qld pacemaker distributor and he said unless I'm going to be putting out a lot of power they're not necessary. I'm not intending on doing too much performance wise to the car, so can anyone with non-comp pacies let me know how they go?

Well ... if i get rid of my ute ... I have a set of PH4499 (non-comp extractors for the I6) sitting the garage ... NEW ... still in package ... so i might be selling them soon.

They are supposed to fit the facotry LPG vehicles ... but don't (without modification).

I am running the pacemakers PH4480's and i have always been happy with them. Brendan Mock and I have agreed to disagree about them but the before and after dyno results I got from fitting them with a decent exhaust too of course are in my gallery.

They worked for me.

The PH4499s are meant to fit ... but on some they leave a 2-3mm gap ... other's touch the converter without heat shield.

In NSW you are meant to have a 150mm gap between converter and exhaust heatshield.

So far I have replaced my header tank with a slightly smaller BA version and a couple of hoses ... this allows the converter bracket on the shock tower to move forward easily without fouling with the hose going to the radiator.

But I have had a chance to make up a new bracket to move the converter forward and upwards a little to allow fitment of the extractors.

my mechanic wouldn't allow it ... and 4 exhaust shops said the same as well ... they wouldn't touch it unless the converter was moved to allow more room.

So you have to have the converter relocated to fit extractors? Damn!

Tickford gas - is that the other 'factory' setup? dual fuel? Do you run the green top motor?

You can get Tickford gas - dual fuel with a Vialle Converter, silver top motor.
or you can get egas - dedicated gas with a Vialle Converter, green top motor.

Since both converters are identical, i would hazard a guess saying that it would be the same extractor situation for both.
