Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.
Default Finding a Will

This is probably a really common situation but a quick surf just lurches to simpleton topics and money-grubbing adverts for estate challenges.

A family will was vested with a solicitor in Sydney who sold his practice and retired. The purchasing practice did not keep in touch re such documents stored, and subsequently merged with another practice or possibly closed up. I’m keen to either get a certified copy of the will, or the original, or reliable proof of its loss/destruction.

Has anyone here trod a similar path with success? Are there any legal industry bodies who can advise on historical transitioning of solicitors’ companies?
