Default Dash Message and Chime

HI all

I have a 2001 XR8 Rebel that has had an S with a circle round it appear below the odometer and it chimes three times everytime you take off from stationary. I am assuming this is the service indicator and since I'm doing my own servicing was wondering how to turn it off? There are several threads on this, but they are all slightly different. I have tried a few methods without success so was wondering whether someone knew the 'right way' to take care of it. Cheers.

The service indicator is a little spanner, I'm not sure what the S is, but it's not the service indicator.

It's the speed alert I would presume - adjust the speed that it goes off up to over 100kmh

Speed alert, top button of the left side steering wheel controls will turn it off. Just hold the button in for a few seconds.

Thanks guys, I wasn't even aware the XR8s had an overspeed indicator. Missus must have set it without knowing.
