Default Twin Turbo V8 Capri 9.1@150mph Street Legal, Engineered, Driven on Pump Fuel

took the brother's Capri out to the WSID Test n Tune today, ran a PB of 9.1@150 with a 1.36 60' she ran a great 60' and straight as an arrow from start to finish, not bad for a 3100lb 100% street legal car on BP Ultimate, driven to and from the track vid below

thanx mate, going by all the calculations its pretty much on the money now, might get another tenth and 1 or 2 mph.

the converter is working and not working in a way, when changing to 2nd, Joe was saying the RPM didn't even drop 100 revs in both his runs. that 9.1 pass he crossed at 7000rpm what he usually crosses at, he had one other pass earlier in the day i actually thought it looked faster MPH but it would have been a slower time as it farted first then took off he didn't pop the chute and he said it was alot harder stopping, than it was when he runs 147mph (he went to quick before the other car staged he didn't want to wait on the 2-step too long) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXX5V2BmEfs

took the Capri out last night. we picked up 1/10th and 1.5 mile an hour like i thought we would. finally he listened to me and started spinning the engine to 8000rpm now, he only ever revved it 7100rpm cos he thought that is all it made power to, but going by the times the power is holding steady above 7100rpm, its a 7000rpm stall converter so we have to rev it to at least 7800rpm so it drops enough pull the car.
9.19@149.9 1.40 60' 7500rpm
9.06@150.7 1.37 60' 7700rpm
9.05@151.5 1.39 60' 8000rpm
9.02@151.2 1.38 60' 8000rpm
first 2 passes str8 as an arrow, the last 2 passes she pulled right and it was out of the groove 3/4 of the way down, u can sorta make it out in the 2nd launch in the vid, could have been 1 or even 2 8.9 passes, but overall couldn't be happier.

little video, only used phone, as we weren't expecting to run good numbers

thanks mate. no worries, let us get the projects out of the way and we will be happy to. in the very near future we are going to be coming out with some stuff for everyone, from racer to everyday driver. will include a whole assortment of things from cylinder heads, pistons, manifolds etc. first cab off the ranks in engine packages will be the NA version of the 4.6L engine that is in the Fopar, we had a NA version knocked up in the US before we started, so we knew what to expect and the 5.4's out there will be very jealous the NA version should make even more power and rev freer as the pistons and rods we use in the Fopar weigh almost 1.5kg which is roughly 500g (4kg set) heavier than what is in the NA.

taaa mate, it's not bad for a little street car going back out on the 18th, might try for an 8 on the last pass we want to take a bit of weight out of it, its a little over 3100lbs, if we can drop 50-100lbs should be good but then it will be too quick for street meets.

we took the car back out last night. the first 2 passes were terrible, almost took out the 330' marker in one run. track did get a little better toward the end of the night. ran a 9.2@148 and a 9.1@150 if the track was well prepared i reckon we may have squeezed a 8.99 out
