I have run the E85 Supercar fuel with a bit more added for fun in my Cortina being old school it didnt like it because you have to retard it to get it to fire and then advance it to make it crack so with 2 drums of the stuff left over I chucked it in the XR 8 it realy does allow a heap of timing to be tuned into your car, even with out a tune you can hit the limiter very easy . with a motor tuned to it I would expect good HP gains that being said it does burn rather quickly at WOT I put 20 lts in the Corty did 2, 1/4 passes + the return road and only drained 14 lts out of the cell But for the late modle cars it does look like good gains could be had

i have read that it will require bigger injectors and possibly pump as well as a good tune, and it may or may not ruin anything rubber in the fuel system. any idea?

You don't get something for nothing. Expect a rise in fuel consumtion of about 30-40%.

alot of things have to be changed in your fuel system to cope as it is highly corrosive, and it dries out normal fuel resistant rubber which becomes brittle then ruptures under pressure

I can't remember who but someone on a nissan forum ran it for a year, then found a whole bunch of his rubbers were perished from the fuel eating away at it.

I run a blend of E85 and BP ultimate. 40% E85 per tank fill. I have bigger injectors bigger fuel pump, and my car is tuned for it. Then again, Im running a blower so there is some benefit there. As a blend, you should be fine. Run it straight and yes you may need to upgrade fuel lines.

Ive been doing this blend for 6 months. so far so good.
