Cool Info on the 1993 FORD CAPRI SC XR2 Turbo.

We're thinking about buying a 1993 FORD CAPRI SC XR2 Turbo. Does anyone know anything about them? I have searched the net for info and couldn't find anything at all so any info would be good.

Yep. The ones that the ABC branded a Lemon because the series 1's leaked water. But they ran the Mazda FWD running gear could seat 4 persons and are not that bad of a car for the period they were made. A small 4 seat convertable. The only worry would be sourcing body and interior parts if it were to be driven daily for many years. So you would buy a looked after 1 in the 1st place.

A friend has a Clubsprint version that would be very similar to the car you are looking at & is very happy with it. I don't know a lot about the cars in terms of what to look for but there would be the usual checks to make sure the turbo is healthy and that the roof does not leak & hasn't deteriorated in addition to your "normal" car items. With any car of that age, if you can't determine when major jobs have been done you need to consider them.

Here are two reviews for you:
