Exclamation diff identification

i recently purchased a mk2 escort that came with a spare diff. the guy told me it was an rs200 diff, but how do can i check that?. the diff had a tag on on it indicating that it had 3.77 gears.on this tag it also had the following numbers:75AG.4005.NA
and on the actual diff it had T23 stamped on it. some help would be greatly appreciated.

3.77 is MkII 1600 diff used in vans and sedans - all 2.0L including RS2000 had 3.54. 75AG... etc is the Ford part number. Dunno the significance of the "T23".

The casting number (T23) relates to the thickness on the carrier. I read somewhere that they varied depending on the use of the vehicle. ie. van (heavy duty) and autos had lower number (thinner case perhaps)
As stated RS2000s had 3.54 diff centres.
